Wojtek Wolski seriously hurt in KHL
Wojtek Wolski might have just paralyzed himself in a KHL game. Video looks real, real bad. Always liked that guy.

He's moving his hips and legs at 0:56. Hopefully that's a good sign.

That was hard to watch. I don't think he will be paralysed as he was moving his feet after the hit. Looks like a serious back injury though, hope he recovers fast.

This was a routine play executed every night in hockey. A combination of the additional speed, slight nudge to angle straight into the boards and added weight all put together make for a freak accident.
Tough to remain optimistic after watching that but here is to hoping!

Jeeze there doctors/trainers are awful. A head or neck injury like that and they don't stabilize anything.

He also pushed himself briefly up on His arms to lift himself slightly off the ice.

The feet moving almost looked like a seizure with how jittery it was. I am sure this is a stupid question but if someone is paralyzed, would they still have such jittery movements during a seizure?

Hes lucky he wasnt dragged outside on a tarp.
The KHL is only a small step removed from the world that Mad Max lives in.

That is a good question, to me it looked like he was kicking his feet in pain.

I'm no doctor, but it seems to me that paralysis involves severing the spinal cord, thus preventing the electrical impulses from making it to muscles lower in the body.
I would expect paralysis would mean the legs wouldn't be twitching at all...???

I was always a fan of his after his rookie season with the Avs and was always hoping the Flames would take a chance on him.
I hope he's ok. That didn't look very good at all.

He's polish. Pretty sure it'd be pronounced Volski.
The "ski" in polish last names is pronounced just like it would be in English.

Best of luck for a speedy recovery! It reminds us yet again that there is much more life beyond the hockey rink.
