We've been best friends ever since.
I vaguely remember that exchange as well.....I think it started a side battle between Dominic and I over at "that" site. We've since made up, I think.

My first day I disagreed with Lanny in a thread about golf v. hockey and he tore a strip off me big time. Like many posters, my start was a little rough.
Jiri is my CP twin... we both joined the same day. I found it via Google.

I had better luck with Lanny out of the gate. Whooped his butt on a debate about wood vs aluminum bats. Not often Lanny posts "No Mas, No Mas!!"

He has been nothing but the best to me since. Likewise with many on this board actually. Have had the good fortune of meeting lots of people from here in person.

I remember that, but for the life of me I can't even remember what it was about. So I guess we're ok now.

I've been around since the Fire on Ice days. I just came over here with everyone else from Fire on Ice, in October of 2001. Obviously I don't post much, as I don't have 1,000 posts yet, but I check out these boards on a daily basis.

I can barely remember, must have seen it mention of cf.com and did a search to find out what Calgary Puck was.

Summer of '04 I was at work trying to procastinate and surf the web.. I asked my Co-worker (Pagal4321) what he was reading, as he always seemed to have something interesting to read.

I reached a whole new level of unproductiveness that summer.

I think I got here via the Sportsnet forums. I'm really not that sure. Four years seems like a long time. You may be able to contradict me by finding an old version of this thread.

Sidney Crosby's Hat told me about it back when we were on each other's ICQ list. I lurked for a while and then finally registered.

I think I found out about it on the "official" flames board, and I lurked for about a year before I felt I had something to say. Still saying stuff randomly.

Heh, yeah. I was loaded the night I signed up and spelled it wrong. Reg pointed it out to me and I got it fixed up by scottie or Bingo soon after. Ahhhh the good old days.

As for first posts...I remember I didnt post for quite a while after my first couple posts were jumped on by FF80, who I think is posting here under a different name now.

Google.

I was searching for a knowledgeable forum (I knew there had to be one somewhere) at the beginning of the 2003/2004 season. Lurked for a bit, and then signed up.

My sister (Firefly) recommended it to me. She said I would enjoy the lively debate. She's never wrong.

I was doing some searching around for Flames stuff on the 'net and I found CalgaryPuck. Didn't really care for it too much. I was one of the guys who liked usenet and just couldn't give it up. People kept leaving usenet though, and it wasn't long until there were few quality posters left.

I would've joined a year sooner than I did but some clown came from here and started posting in the Flames usenet group. He told us that we were dumb because we didn't use CalgaryPuck and was relentless in his abuse of us. It turned me off of this site. I know of a couple other people who still won't come here because of that guy. I'd like to find out who it was, just for the sake of curiousity. I don't hold grudges.
