Elliot would like at least 3 goals back.
McDavid penalty shot shouldn't have happen
Bad D pairings can be corrected
A little out of sync is understandable, but will be corrected.

Not worried, Flames are much better than this.

I thought we got rid of Hiller?

Apparently there is no battle of Alberta when the Flames are winning, but there is when the Oilers are.

Grossman was at fault for the first goal and you guys dogpiled on him but i thought he was fine after that, a few hits and broke up rushes. That's the job of a 3rd pairing guy.

Wideman's on the first pairing, clueless. Hamilton is on the 2nd pairing invisible.

You should add Ferland to the list. What's he doing just skating around touching nobody. Freddie Hamilton can do that.

I think putting anything on the coach thus far is pretty ridiculous. He's trying out pairings and getting to know his team. Its one game, give it time!

I thought backlund, chiasson, brouwer , frolik, bennet, gaudreau , Stajan looked ok.

Defence was atrocious, all 3 pairings.

Elliott was hiller'esque.

Tkatchuk shouldn't be in the nhl yet, let alone the 2nd line.

I think you can afford to have 1 or 2 of them, but not 3.

Hoping we see one, if not both, Kulak and Kevin next game.

Just hideous.

You could feel this coming from the inexplicable doddering around in the preseason. Why the effing eff can't this team figure out how to get ready for game 1?

Elliott was horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. I'm not worried going forward but incredibly disappointed right now.

So many of our best players were bad to awful. Tough to think of a Flame that played well. Backlund, Frolik, Engelland. Thought Tkachuk played well for an 18 year old rookie.

The rest? Hang your heads.

Nolan Patrick but unfortunately he's more of a RNH type first overall which is going to be a good not great player.

Refs were a joke.
Defense was awful.
Elliott is not the answer.

Bennett and Johnny were the only two up front who were creating anything. Need more from Monahan and Brouwer.

Bright side: With average goaltending and officiating we easily win this game. Look forward to Friday night where the arena circle jerk isn't forced down our throats every off play.

Oilers looked like they knew how to cycle, exit the zone, and the Flames looked lost.

I can't be the only person who's still not sold on the Gulutzan hiring. Guy just does't seem like a commanding coach

Bleh, that was not fun to watch. But people gotta remember, this is game 1. At the beginning of last season, we lost 1-5 to the nucks and lost 2-5 against the oilers 4 games later. Look where they ended up at the end of the season. Hopefully the flames get their stuff together for friday and saturday.

Amazing how horrendous goaltending just murders the competitiveness of the team...

You thought Johnny was good in that game?
He needs to be a LOT better.
