These new D pairings are going to be a problem.

I only got to watch the 3rd period but it looked like the Flames were still in preseason mode trying to figure everything out. I'm fine to give them a few games to get the system figured out and get some chemistry going.

It's a process.

If Glen is looking for Flames to get the first overall pick this upcoming draft, he should definitely keep the defensive paring the same.

Just a terrible game by the goalie and defense. So much for it being a new season.

Who could have possibly foreseen this happening with the following D pairs?

Giordano-Wideman
Brodie-Engelland
Grossmann-Hamilton

Grossmann starts the game off with a brutal pass up the middle for an easy scoring chance and goal.

At least the Oilers still look like a terrible team. A terrible team with the best player in the game but still a terrible team.

It's game 1. I'm not worried in the slightest.

That being said, eff the Oilers and their stupid new building.

I thought Bennett played well. But I am probably biased.

Glen, don't make me miss Hartley. Come on, man.

Fix those D pairing. Get Grossmann out of there. Thanks..

Brutal game. Our men are too gross and wide.

Its only 1 game. Lots of positives to take and outside a momentum shift on the strange penalty shot we were right back in it.
I thought face offs were very good although I haven't seen the stats. 40 shots is also going to be entertaining if we get some stops in our own zone.

Good point. Maybe it's just sportsnet terrible audio (like the dome), or maybe it felt hollow because they were gifted so many calls, but it sure didn't feel like there was a buzz in there. Although, Gretz was definitely buzzed.

The Oilers circle jerk all night was exhausting.

Elliot wtf man???

The officiating was suspect at best. I guess they didn't want to spoil the party!

It can only get better from here, right? I mean, really, it would take a hell of a lot to get worse. Hard to believe that could happen.
