It's impossible to please everyone. I remember walking out of a recent mma fight thinking it was one of the greatest fights ever (Diaz Mcgregor 2) and there were people bitching about it on the way out of the bar.
This deal is a freaking homerun for the Flames but there will always be people looking on the negative side.

Very happy with this - term is OK, though might have wanted longer, but he's locked up for now and leaves the Flames free to sign an extension with him if he really plays the way we all think he will.

I would've preferred 7 or 8 years, but the lower AAV means we probably have a bit more flexibility when guys like Bennett and Tkachuk come up for possibly big contracts.
All in all, we'll have him for his best years of his career, and things go as planned, during this current groups "cup window". If the Flames don't win within this 6 years, chances are they weren't going to do it with an extra year or two anyway.
