Happy Thanksgiving.
Johnny wanted to wait until after he had his Thanksgiving dinner until he signed. By the time 6:00pm ET rolled around, he was getting restless and asked his mom when the turkey would be ready. That's when she reminded him that it's only Columbus Day in the States and not Thanksgiving. That pushed him over the edge, and he said "This sucks. Sean's mom cooked Thanksgiving dinner for him today. That's it, I'm going to Canada!"

I disagree. I think he is more likely to sign here after 6 years than after 8 years. After 8 it's almost a guarantee he plays closer to home just because of his age. After 6 if we are contenders and offer him good money he could be willing to stay.

Love it! What a steal.
Very happy with 6 years. We get a good AAV, Johnny gets a good shot at another big contract. Everyone wins.
Not worried at all about 6 vs 7 or 8. 6 years is a long time. Time to get after it, boys.

Either way, I bet some people actually show up at the airport. This is a big enough deal for some fans.
My parents dragged us to the airport to see Ed freakin' Lukowich return home after winning the world curling championship in 1986--and the place was PACKED.
