Perfect. Oilers can have him, he is a massive defensive liability which is exactly why no one signed him this off season (Fits in perfectly with the Oilers). He wanted too much money for what you get (a lot of shot blocks). Love that he will be playing against us. He makes the Oilers a little better probably but not by a whole hell of a lot.

+/- is a very useful stat if you're looking to compare players on the same team.

Case in point, the 2001-02 Flames:

Does it make you feel superior to continue to reply to ricardo while pretending to not reply to him?

For someone who seems to think his opinion isn't worth much you sure spend a lot of time reading his posts and putting him down.

Caroline is real close to my hometown of Calgary so I've always had a lot of respect/love for Kris. Due to this signing I've lost most of that. Hope he stinks this year

Many people here have superior hockey knowledge than ricardo. Replying without replying does not change my feelings on the subject one bit. IMO the majority of this board has superior hockey knowledge to ricardo.

Definitely. He brings down the quality of discussion on this board with his nonsense IMO. And I will continue to put him down until he stops derailing a high percentage of threads with his nonsense. I think a large number of posters who put him down are just as fed up with his BS logic, Bouwmeester obsession, Hamilton obsession, Stempniak obsession, +/- advanced stat obsessions, RGI obsession, etc and thread derailments.

I don't think he contributes anything positive to a discussion. You can't argue with him, just try! His logical leaps and pitfalls are mind numbing

So don't respond to him. You're worse than he is.

You're so desperate to show off your knowledge, talking to him is like taking candy from a baby, yet you can't resist punching him when he's down to prove how smart you are. If you and everyone else just ignored him he'd be gone by now.

Hmm... I thought Russell's strongest asset was the shot-blocking. From what I remember of watching him, it frequently involved a panicked clearing attempt high off the glass.
I don't think Russell is a top 4 guy on a good team but I think his play in Calgary was really hurt by Hartleys assinine defensive system and breakout.

Unlike Brodie and Gio, he wasn't good enough to skate around and buy time while a forward got open at the other blue line and that's why he had to go high off the glass or ice it.

Just glanced at the Oil-Canucks game and Russell was on the ice. Grabbed the puck in his own end nicely. Fired it off the boards right to the Canuck defenceman. One play does not a season make, but it was pretty familiar to me.

Maybe it is only me, but I have a hard time reading/hearing somebody talk about someone else like that.

I believe you saw a giveaway in a hockey game. That you appear to have found it as significant as you did is why I posted the link.

The guy hasn't been in a training camp. I bet he might make even more than one bad play in his first preseason game and it will be just as meaningless as what you saw.
