Now, I don't see him just spitting that out to any random fan, it could be way off who knows, but if that was true, jesus sign him already!

Give it a rest, nobody with even half functioning brain cells think Burke says something like this in public.

I love how everyone some people are assuming they need to finish this deal face to face.

"If only we had some sort of devices, that allow transcontinental communication via either typing or talking, we wouldn't have to worry! What do you think this is Star Trek TOS season 2?!"

I'm sure when the deal is signed, Treliving will strap a stone tablet and hammer to the side of a donkey, point it east, slap it in the ass with a shovel, and prey for the best.

It was probably Jim Treliving and Joe Mimran

And they were talking about a guy with a new dog poop scooping invention.

"That kid's valuation was way off base".

4) even if they were talking about the negotiations in public, why would Burke be telling Treliving what Gross was demanding? (Treliving was in the negotiations, not Burke)

Hmm. Sure reads like you're suggesting hypothetically that Burke was telling Treliving what Gross was demanding, not Burke was telling the hypothetical fan who asked him about Gaudreau.

Aargh!!! Stop it people. My buddy's co-worker's ex-wife's second cousin's nanny who has a slight to moderate drinking problem got bumped off a flight from Minneapolis to Cleveland and wound up in a departure lounge bar sitting next to some fat white haired dude who is a huge Flames fan and kind of looks like Brian Burke.

Wasn't the meeting with the Gaudreau family Wednesday night? The fact that he was in Calgary Fri morning means?

Citation Required. "Meeting with Family" specifically.

You said you had to cancel dinner Wednesday night because you had a date with your co-worker's ex-wife.

I'm a little late to this thread, but I can confirm that my father ran into Burke and Treliving going through Calgary customs. (No green text)

In my opinion your opinion is wrong. Any team in the league would be all over both those players at that price tag.
