Wasn't somebody saying that they're waiting until after the first game to put Smid on the long term injury reserve for cap reasons? Perhaps they want to have some cap flexibility so are waiting to sign after the game in deadmonton and will have him play in the home opener.
Either way, I don't plan on panicking until he misses the home opener.

Up until now, it's all been fun and games. Now that I know there's an AC vid hanging in the balance... this just got serious.
Time to sign, Johnny.

Yeah, no doubt Treliving flew to New Jersey and stayed there for 3 days (and counting) in order to tell them that he hasn't moved at all from his prior position.
Sounds totally plausible.

Can we not do this whole flight tracker thing? It's too much imo, I'm really impatient as well but I just feel that's completely unnecessary.

I've never understood the flight tracker thing. How do we even know if those planes are noteworthy?

Negotiations and a deal could still happen over the weekend right?

Let's make it happen Brad. I'm starting to lose sleep over this sadly.

What do people make of the TSN panel points. Agree? Pay him to show him that he's "special" or stick it out potentially into the season to get it below 8, and maybe potentially risk him reconsidering his future with the Flames?
I think there's got to be a middle ground. I sincerely hope Johnny's side has made some movement as it appears the Flames have adjusted their terms the most.

Lewis Gross uses time pressure to extract as much as possible. Just keep grinding him until Johnny tells him to get it done, which he probably already has. I can imagine Gross asking Johnny to give him another few days.
There is pressure on Treliving, but don't underestimate the pressure on Gross as well. He probably already knows he has to get a deal in the next few days here, he's just trying to make it as good as he can.

Yeah I'd imagine that GMs don't care about holidays much if something important is happening.
Come on Johnny, let's get this done!

Yup. Gross looks good to other clients and potential clients if he squeezes a big last minute deal. But he looks bad if Johnny sits out even one game, because no other client or potential clients want to do that.
