If Mark Ferraro is talking about a Gio Cap, then we are all in trouble.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest your IP is the same as Gaudreauvertime. It's pretty see-through.

Ok so a Gio Cap doesn't exist and we are just offering him Monahan money because we don't know how to manage superstar players? Seriously, how many star players have come up through this organization only to be tossed away?

Brett Hull
Martin St Louis
Theo Fleury

Who was the last great player to retire a Flame? Lanny?

Ok this list just proves you're not a Flames fan. Stop trolling our forum.

Can someone finally ban him?

Or, the Flames have moved to 7 and Gaudreau's camp is stuck at 7.5 - 8?

You have NO IDEA where they're at, and you're desperate to point fingers and incite panic.

And neither do you. What makes you think the Flames have come up to 7? Because I haven't heard that once. I've heard 6.4 and then I keep hearing about this Gio Cap.

Except I'm not the one leaping to conclusions and pointing massive blaming fingers. You are.\

I don't think there's been any info leaked, and that you're just keying in on hearing what you want to hear.

Fact - The Flames don't have a great track record with keeping star players. Iginla, Nieuwendyk, Phaneuf, Hull, St. Louis, Fleury. You need franchise skaters to build around. It's hard to do that when you keep pushing them out. I sincerely hope this era is different and we don't repeat mistakes of the past. But this whole situation isn't too reassuring of that.

If Theo Fleury is your third example of a star player being "tossed away', you've got no case for pointing to this kind of behavior as being an organizational, institutional failure. Only the most delusuonal zealot would point to an 11 season, 800+ game relationship as tossing someone aside

I know piling on hasn't phased you yet, so I doubt my remarks will either. But get a ####ing grip.

I would love to argue but your very true. Look at the long list of star players lost.

Hey look everyone, this thread turned into a train wreck too! The next bit of minor news we should start another thread that will turn into 1000 posts of the same arguments and over reactions.

Fleury is obviously a stretch. But the other guys he mentioned are quite notable.

And your other examples are mostly from a bygone era of a capless league with a crappy Canadian dollar when franchises were uprooting. Of course the Flames couldn't keep their stars forever under those conditions. It was only because of committed ownership that the franchise remained here during that time

And Iginla was also not "tossed aside". He was the face of the franchise for over a decade. The organization tried (and failed) over and over again to win with him.

Yeah the superstars generally play their whole career with one team. Gretzky, Messier, Orr, Esposito, Lafleur, Hull, Dionne, Roy, Hasek all retired with their original team. Flames really should learn from that. We'd be a lot better off if we'd hung on to Phaneuf and Iginla.

Two players in 30+ years. Monstrous.

It was a tongue in cheek comment. Mark Ferraro doesn't exist.
I think he was referring to Ray Ferraro.
