Players of interest around the NHL - preseason performance
Was bored waiting on Gaudreau to sign so looked through some stats and highlights over the preseason. A few observations:
- John Gilmour has 2 goals
- Both Baertschi and Granlund have goals and points
- Bourque in Colorado looks to be having a good preseason
- Haven't seen McJesus on the scoreboard much, maybe he isn't playing much
- Agostino got a ton of points and then cleared waivers
Didn't see anything about Raymond.
Does anyone know how Matthews is playing?
Also interested if Dubois and Pujujarvi are going to make their squads like Tkachuk.
Any other tidbits out there?

Personally haven't heard anything about Dubois in Columbus. Anyone here heard anything?

Word out of Long Island is that Ho-Sang, Barzal, and Beauviller have all played well enough to make the team. I believe Ho-Sang was just sent down alongside Dal Colle though

Former Flame Derek Grant has 2 goals, 2 assists in 4 games and is still in camp for the Sabres. Looking likely to make the team out of camp, has had a real good camp and preseason.

So did Ho-Sang actually show some maturity this go around?

Good for him. He was really good off the hop here last year.

I haven't been following too closely, but from the small bits I have read it sounds like the team is impressed

The guys on The Fan mentioned Dubois and Puljujarvi have had flashes of skill this preseason but nothing like the dominance Tkachuk has shown. They speculated both wouldn't make the big team.

Is Laine making the Jets? He looked good in the last game vs the Flames. Lots of shots. But as far as I've heard he hasn't put up much on the scoresheet.
I could be wrong.
Not surprised about Pool Party and Dubois. They weren't touted as being locks to make the NHL this season. Tkachuk always had a shot because of his frame and toughness/style of play.

I'd be surprised if Laine didn't make the team. He kept up perfectly fine at the World Cup. Whether he hits the net or the crossbar in two or three preseason games won't matter to the coach.
A few months ago I thought Laine might need significant transition time, but now I feel it's likely to be no more than two or three weeks.

Reading around on hfboards, seems that Dubois probably isn't going to make the team while Puljujärvi still has a chance if he plays really well tonight.

I've heard John Gilmour has looked very solid. Hope we didn't screw that one up.
