I just half listened to all the HC @ Noon waiting for Johnny talk. I think they may have spent 5 minutes essentially saying "$8M+ is unrealistic".

I'd love 8 at a decent price! I just don't think there's anyway Johnny signs it without a massive overpayment so he can avoid being a UFA at 31. That's why I don't think there's any chance at an 8 year deal.
My next preference is 7 at a decent price. Heck, my hope is 7x$7.1M.
I was just suggesting that Treliving may not want to have both expire at the same time so was making my guess which we all were doing. My guess is 6x$6.75M.
