They beaned Bautista IIRC

Bottom of the 7th Game 5 ALDS Bautista hit the sweetest homerun ever and then to top it off tossed his bat like a MFing boss. Rangers feelings were hurt. They made a big deal about it. Swore revenge. On the last at bat for Bautista of the series they bean him with a rookie pitcher (I think).

They thought they would not meet again this season. But they were wrong!!!

Now it is time for the potentially greatest series ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Rangers. Everything about how they handled themselves from losing game 5 of the ALDS to the final regular season game this year was absolutely pathetic.

Sam Dyson crying about Bautista disrespecting the game because Jose showed some emotion and flipped a bat. Then the Rangers waiting until Bautista's final at bat of the regular season against them to have ex-convict Matt Bush throw a 99 mph fastball at him like a moron. Bautista then slides hard into 2nd base, which, if I am not mistaken, has been happening for years and years and years, and is a baseball play. But because the Rangers are special, and they can't get over the fact that they lost game 5 because of their piss poor infield defence, they took offence to this and had their tough guy 2nd baseman Odor punch Bautista in the face, which seems pretty damn excessive. But of course they love that crap in Texas, who can forget Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura, obviously the idiocy runs deep in that organization. But they, along with along with many others, can keep spinning this narrative that Bautista is a bad guy, yet hasn't ever thrown a ball at an opposing player, punched another player in the face, hell the most egregious things he does is argue balls and strikes!

The Texas Rangers are choke artists who deserve nothing but losses and misery.

Yeah, the Rangers waited until the last game of the last series with the Jays this season, and even waited for what was likely Jose's last at bat of that series, then they sent out a rookie pitcher who wasn't even on the team last year and had him bean Bautista.

That was presumably retribution for "The Bat Flip"

What the Rangers should have done IMO, is let the bat flip go.

However, if they couldn't do that they should have beaned him with a veteran pitcher in Jose's first at bat against them.

Here's most of the 7th inning I believe. Good part, and bad part.

Yeah I knew of the bat flip but honestly if we weren't Jays fans we'd hate Bautista as well. He's very hard to like even as a Jays fan but he's got my support until he's no longer wearing blue.

This is going to be an epic series.

Thank you!

Completely forgot about the third error at 3rd by Andrus. What a freakin inning. I just bit all my nails off watching that even though I knew the outcome.

Baseball playoffs is like 1,000,000 better than regular season. Not sure any sport matches it. I can't wait for the next series

As a Jays fan he's my favourite player. Love his attitude and love his swagger. Plus he backs up the swagger when it matters, which to me is what makes him great. Jays have a few players like that Bautista, JD, Stroman, but then they have the complete opposite types in Tulo and EE.

I don't think the Jays can afford/are willing to pay to bring back EE, so I really hope Bautista accepts their QO in the offseason. This team should be in the playoffs next season too and he always comes up big for them.

The 7th inning of the 2015 ALDS was probably the most memorable 53 minutes of all my sports watching days. To be honest, I don't think anything will ever top that, but I am sure looking forward to this series to see if that will happen. I predict two bench clearing brawls in the first two games, but things settle down after that.

Honestly, could not be happier with the match-up. I think the Rangers are the weakest team remaining in the playoffs - their run differential for the year was +8 and probably won 12 or so games more than they should have based on that stat. If the Jays can take one of two games on the road, I think they have a very good shot at winning both at Roger's Center.

I despise the Rangers as well, but Beltre is a treasure. I wish he was on any other team.

Still as intense watching it a year later. Watching it again, I thought the announcer asking "What's next?" after Donaldson's bloop ties the game was perfect.

Not for me... I love me some Joey Bats. Honestly, I want him to pimp every HR he hit's against the Rangers like it's the last HR that will ever be hit and I want him to smirk at Odor the entire time he takes a (very slow) trot around the bases.

Rangers want to complain about respect?... tell them they don't deserve any.
