Yeah, it was one guy throwing a beer can, but apparently the fans in that section were yelling racial slurs after the fact as well. That kind of stuff isn't needed either, people need to grow up.

Adam Jones says he and fellow Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim were the targets of racial slurs after a fan threw a can of beer at Kim during Tuesday’s American League wild-card game against the Blue Jays, according to USA Today.
He brings in Jiminez with nobody on and 1 out. He's a starter and was probably expected to pitch that inning and more while the O's tried to get a lead at some point.
But Jiminez comes in and throws 4 pitches and is suddenly 1st and 3rd with one out.
4 pitches. For a guy that was supposed to go several innings if needed.
How many arms did he have left down in the bullpen? Honest question.
Anyways, obviously if he could back he'd probably intentionally walk EE with Jiminez and then bring in Britton to try and save the game, but after bringing in Jiminez to hold down the fort for a few innings if needed I get why he failed to make the switch.
EDIT:
I looked it up, and if Showalter had hooked Jiminez and put in Britton, and then Britton had saved the inning, he would have been left with Bundy (23 year old with 109 innings this year) and Hunter (traded for at the deadline, had 12 innigs this year with Baltimore, 34 innings total in the majors).
Of course given the out come he would change what he did if he could go back, but even if Britton puts the fire out Showalter isn't left with much for pitchers to finish the game.

The bad decision from Schowalter was not brining in Britton to face Bautista in the 9th. They got lucky with the K and DP which I believe made him overconfident in his bullpen and influenced the decision to save Britton for a save.
Also, they should have walked EE in the 11th as it would have created a force out at home if needed.

He probably should have gotten more innings out of the relievers he used. Not sure why he took Givens out cause that guy was unhittable. I'm sure it has something to do with analytics, but hey, you have to have a sense of how the pitcher is going and not rely solely on stats.
If Gibbons relied only on stats, he wouldn't have got that extra 6th inning out of Stroman and would have pulled him after he went through the O's order twice, and who knows how that would have turned out.

Says who? Adam Jones or some nobody media person? Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, and if that happened i'm sure someone would have got knocked out in the stands by another fan.
Adam Jones never came right out and said that, someone asked him something about it and he just said he hears it all the time and he doesn't even let it bother him. Media trying to turn this into some race war when all it was is one idiot throwing a beer and Adam Jones coming over to run his mouth like he always does.

Yeah, he burned through his relievers no doubt.
Jiminez was the 7th out of 10. Britton and Hunter weren't going to give him a ton of outs either, realistically, so if he went to Britton without Jiminez getting a single out he was going to be up against it after that.
Still though, he should have went to Britton and took his chances after that.

Alpine Oracle already refuted that article but it is worth repeating that it is totally untrue that Jones said that there were racial slurs. He didn't flat out denying it but after being pressed with multiple questions from reporters he did not explicitly say that racist statements were shouted at him or Kim.
Furthermore every media source is citing the same single tweet from an Orioles fan who claims to have been in attendance but there's absolutely no concrete evidence that he was even sitting in the section in which it happened. Or sitting anywhere near where it happened.
It is actually really really embarrassing, but not totally surprising, that the goddamn ####ty media is once again picking up a total non-story and making it headline news. The jerk off who threw the beer can is bad enough but to try and label Toronto fans as shouting racist things at Jones and Kim has absolutely no factual basis or evidence.
Now it is likely that with 50k people in attendance, at least a few drunken dbags shouted some inappropriate stuff but that's not news.
Once again the crappy media fails us.

There is video all over Twitter of a woman as the person who threw it. She also threw one on the home run.
See this is what I don't understand with social media. It's apparently a woman who did it, yet everyone, including major media outlets are spreading a picture of a guy who's probably going to go through a lot over these accusations.
I understand why regular s****ty human beings who lack empathy will actively engage in this behavior, but how can major media outlets get away with it?

Seriously. I hope this guy recovers and he's not financially screwed if someone else in fact did it. If it turns out to be a lady and she's eventually outed, will the media treat her the same?

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
Here is a video alleging it was a female who threw the beer instead of the widely reported male.
I think it was the white blob that threw the can. In my experience yellow blobs are very reserved.
Plus at the 0.24s mark of the video you can see the can starts from below the yellow blob then moves past her hand. The "girl" doesn't even move her arm so don't know how she would get enough on the can to get it out into the outfield.
