I feel like I'm partially responsible. Any reason why you didn't go with the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Glass? It's $20 more from New Egg.

Style over substance really. The Phanteks is good looking but the 805i is just siiiick looking.

I've gone with the Storm Trooper computer case the last few builds. Not super sexy but I've always liked the functionality and the handle has been really convenient in a full case.

These were on display at PAX Prime this year. Can't buy them in store obviously.

I bought a Dell XPS 730x way back in the day, I still use that beast of a case that needs wings for leg supports. Still love the case.

Still love my Fortress FT02.

Mostly because of the rotated motherboard and gigantic fans I can run slow and silent.

It's a bit big, especially these days with much less extra stuff needed, but it runs so cool and quiet.

I need to stay out of this thread, especially after just buying a new iPad and a 4K TV in the last week

I was deciding on this case last month, I wanted it for the looks, but did not buy it because of the design. The power supply sits at the bottom and vents up into the case, seem like failed logic to me.

I went with corsair 760t.

It doesnt vent into the case, it pulls air from inside the case and vents out the back. That said, a quick dremel mod and you can have it pulling from underneath like most modern cases.

And really, PSU failure is usually from bad caps, not from hot ambient air intake.

the PSU vents inside of that case; but you are right, a dremel tool and problem resolved, any product can be made better with mods

You don't have to worry about the PSU over heating, it is drawing cool air from outside, the problem is the that air is now going through your hot PSU right onto your video card or processor.

It's such a minor quibble, but PSUs pull with the 140mm and vent out the back:

Melapo, is there a reason you need both SSDs?

It's not as sleek but you can pick up a 4 terabyte MyBook for half the price of your 960 gb ssd.

I probably don't need one but I was reading that installing games on an SSD is a thing now. I thought it was a no-no. And looking at my huge backlog of Steam games (and Origin, GoG, UPlay, etc.) I thought I might as well get something super fast to install all my games.

People have now realized that the typical lifespan of SSDs is so great that long before you exceed it in use, you'll have upgraded to a bigger, faster one. So might as well take advantage of the speed advantages of SSDs as much as possible.

What 4k Monitors are you guys upgrading to?

I have 2x 27" ASUS, and considering going with a single 35" 4k.
In addition to updating my system.
