Poirier, Klimchuk and Jankowski all cut. Maybe we should fire Feaster. :P

Hopefully Hathaway or Hamilton wins a spot over Korpicoski and Higgins they are friggin awful.
Both of them should already be cut. The only reason any of those PTO's are still here is to fill a roster spot to rest regulars. At least I hope that is the only reason.
Grossman's play is suited to his name, Gross the guy stinks.
Shinkaruk looks like he fits in the NHL. Like we saw in his call up.
Tkachuk is the creme of the crop. Bennett and him are a nice fit together. Tkachuk definitely will benefit lined up with a set up man.

I would like to see Tkachuk and Shinkaruk stay. If Johnny and Russell do sign I would love this lineup
Johnny Monahan Shinkaruk
Tkachuk Bennett Brouwer
Ferland Backlund Frolik
Bouma Stajan Chiason
Bollig Hathaway
Brodie Gio
Russell Hamilton
Jokkipaka Wideman
Engelland
Elliott
Johnson

Hoping and praying that a guy can go from prospect to first line RW. Not a good sign.
Once the Johnny domino falls, I hope an effort is made to fill the top RW spot.

Out of the three first round picks cut the only one I'm really worried about is Poirier.
Jankowski is just turning pro, I never thought he was realistic to be NHL ready at his first camp.
Klimchuk is healthy again, did well in fitness testing and I expect this is his year to jump forward in his pro career. His attitude and brains suggest he's still can't miss, but maybe that roster target is a 6-9 forward spot instead of a 4-6 as I thought before.
Poirier took a step back last year, which you hate to see, and he doesn't have the injury excuse that Klimchuk has. He needs to push back to that 25/50 season again in the AHL, or time will run out.

How times have changed. 25/50 is considered quite good now in the AHL.
Paul Ranheim was 68/97 in 1988-89 in the IHL with Salt Lake.
Stillman was 35/83 in 1993-94 in Saint John.

I honestly think some of the better current AHL teams, could hang with some of the old young guns Flames teams.

Nice to see him being used in all situations.
Throw him out on the PP - he scores.
Throw him out SH - he scores.

Jankowski's SH goal was all Poirier using his jets.
Listening to the radio broadcast (which I am sumarizing in the back burner forum), Poirier has been a beast all night. Utilizing his speed on the forecheck, hitting, keeping Tuscon hemmed in.

I don't think Janko ever had a hatty in his college career. I think this would be the first hat trick he's had since drafted.
