If legit, I question why you would walk around with $10m in jewelry in a foreign country with no security? Robbers gonna literally spot your big ass from miles away.

I've never been but I've heard nothing but incredibly good things about Kanye's shows. Just saying.

She's famous for being famous and as Paris Hilton knows that only lasts so long when there's little substance behind the person.

Kris Jenner is basically Donald Trump level good at media manipulation. That's why you cannot dismiss the potential pub stunt, especially since the jewelry is almost certainly insured. No real money lost, Kanye is in huge debt and they need cash, and they always love attention. If it were normal celebrities it'd be hard to think of this as a stunt. But given the family involved, it might be the most likely scenario.

Except in this case, she's got a lot of substance behind her.

I'm not sure what those have to do with each other but sure why not?
A better comparison is actually head over heels, which I'm definitely ok with. No one ever complains that it should be heels over head, which makes a ton more sense.

Actually saying "could care less" is a perfectly acceptable phrase and there is quite a bit of evidence to support the use of the phrase, despite it seeming to be illogical.
The internet's pedantic obsession with this one seemingly random idiom is really strange.
|
I'm a former editor. If you mean that you don't care at all, then it's not acceptable.
Couldn't care less means that you don't care even a little.
Could care less means that you do care to some degree.
Maybe someone should start a grammar thread. It may be popular.

That's not how that works.
They are idioms, they don't have to make perfect sense. It is totally acceptable.
Unless you are also against uses of phrases like head over heels, it's my lucky day etc.

It's not acceptable at all. The expression is "couldn't care less" and when people say "could care less" they're using the term incorrectly.

Haha, no. All we're saying is it makes no sense. Head over heels (which could be expressed better, I guess) makes sense as does it's my lucky day.

So if it's an idiom or common phrase/word that isn't used or said correctly it's OK provided a lot of people do it?
Buckle up Merriam-Webster you have some stuff to add.

No they aren't.
It isn't meant to be taken literally.
There is a long history of people using "could care less" and the term has evolved.
It is so weird that an idiom that has been around for 60 years has only now been decided to be outlawed because it doesn't make sense.
There are literally dozens of other sayings that don't really make sense but we use them because they have evolved from their original intended meaning or phrase.

I don't want to sidetrack but regardless of how many times the other phrase been incorrectly used "I couldn't care less" is indeed the logically correct phrase.

This thread about a Kardashian in distress has turned into a shouting match over grammar in idioms.
Ah, the internet.

Ok I feel like everyone is literally using the same argument but isn't reading anything I post. Irregardless of how you feel about the logic of the phrase, it is a perfectly cromulent saying.
Again, if you think it doesn't make sense "logically" then how do you use phrases like "head over heels", "barking up the wrong tree", "penny for your thoughts".
So everytime someone says "barking up the wrong tree" do you say "nuh uh, you weren't actually barking, that makes no sense". No of course not, that would be silly.
God I hate Kim Kardashina. Look at what she made me do! Arguing on the internet about proper phrasing.

Dude. We're reading everything you say. And just because a blog on dictionary.com calls it an idiom like "head over heels" doesn't mean they're right. "Couldn't care less" is a logical statement. "Barking up the wrong tree" and "head over heels" are idioms because they don't make logical sense, but we all know what you mean in spite of that. Saying "could care less" is just fataing up the proper expression.
