Trump is a clown...but it is a beauty pageant
I mean if a Flames player gained 60 pounds over the summer he could lose his job or be told "lose the weight or hit the road"

That's not the issue though, if Sven put on fifty pounds of belly fat you would fire a couch for incompetence if he brought the press in to the locker room and then loudly declared what a fat pig Sven has become, has he been stuffing his piggyface with pirogies?

People are just reading Jill Stein maliciously there for the heck of it.
It's obvious she knows what she's talking about and said what she said deliberately.
It's also more than a little annoying that the only time Johnson or Stein seem to be on people's radar is if their being attacked.
If you care about them, you should also post about their successes. If you think they're irrelevant, then just posting the negative stuff serves no real purpose.

Stein might be the biggest kook in the race though. Her continued insistence that Hillary will be worse than Trump is just crazy town. She's just trying to stay relevant since this was the only election anyone would ever care about her. Let her enjoy her last 2 minutes of (internet) fame.

A beauty pageant she won. A beauty pageant that has no weight requirements to apply to. A role that is not dependent on weight and would not cause her to fail a physical based on the requirements of the job.
A Flames player on the other hand may indeed fail a physical tailored to the specifics of the job.
And even if it was a requirement of the job you don't call people names like you are in kindergarten. That gets you fired by every HR department in the country.

Could be, although Trumps a tough competitor. And yeah, not a fan of Stein or Johnson either.
Doesn't really change my point though.

Good Lord. I actually might prefer Donald Trump as president of the United States than Jill Stein. '
... well... might. I mean probably not. But the fact that I can't immediately say "yeah for sure I'd take Jill Stein" says quite a lot.

Umm, not sure
Okay I went and looked into her acceptance speech. There's a couple of good bits there.

The following is clearly better than anything either Clinton or Trump have said on the topic of global terrorism:
Quote:
It’s important to recognize where this violent extremist threat came from in the first place. A global terrorist movement linked to Saudi wahhabism was an idea cooked up CIA and Saudi Arabia in Afghanistan to grow the Mujaheddin to stop the Soviet Union. And it has continued with Saudi schools – madrassas – that continue to be a recruiting and training ground for tomorrow’s terrorists.”
We can’t simultaneously fight terrorism with one hand, while we and our allies fund terrorism, train terrorists and arm terrorists with the other.
|
Yeah, pretty much this, and well put too. I mean the US is STILL arming Al-Qaida troops, how crazy is that? And they're not even arming them to fight against ISIS, they're arming troops that are fighting against the only pro-democratic multi-ethnic force in the area, the alliance around the Kurds.
Quote:
We must end the assault on our privacy, on freedom of the press, on the free internet, and end the war on whistleblowers, and free the political prisoners - that includes Leonard Peltier, Mumia Abu Jamal, Chelsea Manning, Julian Assange, Edward Snowden, Jeffrey Sterling, and Edward Pinkney, whose only crime was to stand up against the theft of public resources from Benton Harbor, one of the poorest communities in the nation, by the Whirlpool Corporation.
|
Yeah, this too is a worthy cause that Clinton and Trump do not support.
Not saying I'd vote for Stein, but just those two points clearly make her better than Trump.

Is there anything lamer than posting a meme in a political thread? Is this even a meme? So many questions. I can't help myself.
So much more could be included in this.

The only reason people even know who she is is because the big two are so bad people feel forced to look up 3rd party candidates.

Didn't the Leafs coaching staff do that a couple years ago with Kessel? They commented to the media that Kessel was 15 pounds overweight.

Did they call Kessel "Mr. Piggy?" Regardless, none of the Leafs coaches are running for president.

While I generally agree with this, the personality and opinions of the President matter. Clinton, based on her history, policies, etc. is very clearly focused on issues like work-life balance, the status of children and families in a way that Obama simply is not. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see a huge push for some kind of parental leave to come out of a Hillary Clinton administration, while I feel that would be a very low-priority issue for a 3rd Obama term or a Biden administration.

While people are falling over themselves to find some argument for why hassling a young woman over her weight is somehow not despicable because reasons, can I ask that they not lose sight of the fact that he also disparaged her for being a Latina at the same time?

Probably because we're desensitized to his appealing to racists by this point, so only other things surprise us anymore.
