I took a shot. Kip in some south Slavic languages means statue (kipar is a sculptor). I think something like 40 percent of the vocabulary is similar to Russian, so there was a reasonably good chance.

The only remote association is "kiparis", which means "cypress tree".

The Finnish language is basically an explosion at the Alpha-Bits factory.

	| Powerplay Quarterback |

Well there goes a significant amount of mystique and cool-factor down the drain.
To think, the Flames were close to acquiring Tim Ridge at one point. You never really could wash the Oilers stink off of guys like ol' Dick Wood###### or J.R. Skimmedmilk. I was present in the dome last year when Member-of-the-Christophers scored a hat trick against the Flames.

I once eavesdropped on a Finnish conversation between mikko koivu and kipper. It was quite animated and sounded like a Martian having sex with a malnourished zebra.

They caught me listening then gave me death stares.

Well I'm definitely calling Barkov and Jussi Jokinen: Axel Birch and Johnny Rivers. Sounds like an Old West gunslinging duo.

Actually, Estonian is closer, being a Finnic language. The Finnic languages are a subgroup of the Uralics, one of which is Hungarian.
