Alrighty, off to this forum, then. *L* Gave me a couple moments of panic when it'd disappeared from the other forum. Thought I was going to have to dig up my backup copy. It was only ever in the other forum 'cause of the contest nature. Here should be neat, too.

Hunh. Well...that was interesting.

Learned a bit about cyclones. Figured they were just the same thing as a hurricane.

I had thought that the GenX would take that challenge, but Dave and Rachel really dropped the ball in the challenge.

Gotta wonder about Dave out there. He really does kinda seem like he's afraid of everything. I would have been ok seeing either him or Rachel go.

Not sure what to think of the Millennials yet. I kinda get the feeling that they'll bumble their way through, succeeding despite of the bumbling.

wow that David guy is weird.

Was Lucy Huang or Michaela Bradshaw interviewed at all? It was like they weren't even a part of the show.

Should be interesting dynamics, this one. The "cool" kids on young team are already annoying.

Millennials can easily run the table until a swap as long as they don't self-destruct from attractiveness.

They are they same. They are named different things based on where they are in the world. Tropical cyclone is a generic term to mean an organized, rotating storm originating over tropical or subtropical waters. Once sustained winds of 74mph are hit they are upgraded to typhoon, hurricane or cyclone based on location.

Typhoon - northwest pacific
Cyclone - South Pacific and Indian
Hurrican - Atlantic and north east pacific

As typical for a first episode...some really annoying players, players that are trying waaaaay too hard too early and players expecting all the work gombe done for them.

I thought it was a little funny how they kept talking about how millennials get everything handed to them, and for the first time in Survivor history, get totally bailed out from their inability to build a shelter. Had it been any other normal tropical storm and were left out there they would be in real trouble.

My wife and I allow waiting until the end of the first episode to pick. I decided to go with Bret right at the end, then they show the medic preview, and I'm thinkin' waitaminute...that's on Gen X, it's a guy, probably a big guy...oh waitaminute! Change change change!

I found it interesting that Bret is gay. Not something you expect from the Cop from Boston. Kinda breaks the stereotype.

I also found it interesting that they completely evacuated the beach. Makes sense though when you see the aftermath with toppled trees and whatnot. When it becomes a safety issue like that they have to do it.

Seems like some pretty compelling characters this season already. Zeke could be one to watch, same goes for Adam.

That was a pretty good starting episode. Always interesting to see a Survivor first after so many seasons. The one girl on the Millenials just seems like a maneater, that poor hipster dude is setting himself up for a big heart break. I definitely felt old watching that tribe.

So if Gen X is up until 82, and Millenials are 84.. what are you if you're born in 83?

I'd love to see a season of Survivor where they put CaptainCrunch on a Millenials type tribe, but even more hipsterish with an anti-establishment attitude, and give him access to firearms and explosive devices.

And how Gen X took both shortcuts in the challenge and still lost. Handouts, eh?

Gen X lost because they put putzes on the puzzle. They almost had to take the first shortcut given the size of the guys on the tribe. I think that was a no-brainer for them.

They wouldn't have had a set birth year as the division, they just cast people to fit each of the stereotypes they wanted and that happened to be the approximate midpoint.

Well, I won't say much but tonight's outcome really, really ticked me off. Where did that come from?

Hunh. Well...um...I dunno. Kinda sad to see Mari go already. I was taking to her. Like KFF, I wonder where that came from.

I liked the challenge this time, too. I was thinking that Cece was going to screw everything up, but she came through with the toss, while Ken beasted through that challenge.

As an older person, I wanted to call an airstrike in on that tribal council.

Yeah I don't even think you need to be an old person to realize how stupid many of these millennial people are. I mean if this is a good cross section of what the U.S. has in some of its younger people, there's now no mystery as to Trumps popularity. Probst even looked frustrated at the ridiculousness of how these people were all basically children except for one or two. Hell the 18 year old kid is the most mature in that group so maybe (hopefully) we just got one largely moronic generation and then things get back to normal down the road.

The most delicious irony of all is David getting the idol. His interview about getting his hopes up that some guy almost died so he could stay in the game was disturbing and revealing, and I put about 1/10,000,000,000 odds he wins this.

David and Ken, maybe the new Stephen and JT?

Michelle really worked to get the votes for Figgy. She's a gamer.

Why Michaela so salty tho? If you're so sure Figgy will sink herself then just keep your mouth shut and let her go down. It almost came across as jealousy and being a bitch is just as likely to put a target on your back as being part of some power couple. It's like these people have never seen Survivor before.

Big ups, Michelle... she's the only person on that tribe I give a damn about. I want this season to be over.

Zeke strikes me as fairly level headed(other than that mustache), and one of the few with a real job. But ya, the rest of them are like my step-sisters. Totally oblivious to the realities of the world.
