Anyone know who Calgary is sending to Winnipeg? Both teams or just one one the squads?

Team in Winnipeg tonight will be the same as played in Edmonton with a few changes such as Ferland, Bouma & Culkin in (as per Conroy on Fan 960 this morning)

Obviously losing both games was no good, but it doesn't matter right now. What mattered to me most last night was just how crappy the streams were. Christ. Here we go with another year of BS when it comes to watching 'quality' Flames games. You just know SN is going to #### the bed when it comes to the games' quality on TV and sound.

And another annoying thing was how the announcer kept pronouncing 'Chiasson' like he was in some french neighbourhood. I was actually hoping to Chiasson to never get the puck so that I wouldn't have to hear it.

I was there too and I watched him shoot a bunch at his pads. I think you are making things up here.

Any word on Hathaway? Name was all over the box score, appeared as though doing what he does best? I rarely, if ever, do I see his name pencilled into opening night projected lineups. Kind of surprises me a bit.

Got crushed by a huge hit but got up right away and quickly went after a much bigger defender. Didn't really turn into a fight as they more just held onto each other but that showed some toughness. Took another penalty late while pushing with Lucic in a scrum...wasn't that much of anything though. Aside from those moments, I didn't notice him much. Didn't seem to get under anyone's skin or throw any hits but granted, the game wasn't too chippy and that's when he usually plays his best.

McDonald....what is the deal? I don't care about not taking Demko......mcd was the guy they thought was better at the time. But why is this guy at best stagnating? Every time he is given a chance, he fluffs it.

Despite the bad goal on a power play a few moments after he came on, he showed some positives last night. Showed some puck handling skills, was a sponge on rebounds forcing a faceoff, and made a pretty massive save to keep it a one goal game.

What he needs is strong goalie coaching to get his game right. His confidence will follow.

Yes, the bottom of the cups have a "20" stamped on them.

The deal is he's 20 years old. Basically still in the infancy of his career as a pro. Nobody should be judging him harshly at this point. He's got years of development ahead of him. Seems like people want to start writing him off which is ridiculous given how long it takes goalies to develop. We can't even really begin to judge him yet.

Writing McDonald off now is similar to those who wrote Jankowski off after his first year of college. Jankowski was a long term project and most goalies are long term projects. Can't judge a long term project at the beginning of it can we?

Put McDonald in the ECHL, give him a lot of games, good coaching and hope he turns it around. He has 3 years left on his deal to get better. Ideally for the 2017-18 season Gillies will be promoted to the NHL and McDonald and Schneider will be in the AHL (Maybe ECHL for Schneider). Riitich I am guessing will be gone. Then in 2018-19 Parsons will probably turn pro and be competing with McDonald and Schneider for playing time in the minors. If McDonald continues to struggle he could be traded at that point to make room for Parsons..
