Default Flames Lose Both Games in Battle of Alberta Split-Squad

Some good things, some not so good.

No good.

But who cares because it's pre-season and our two best forwards didn't play.

Bennett-Brouwer-Tkachuck looked deadly. Hopefully they can build on that.

Elliot also looked rock solid through two periods.

Their two best forwards didn't play either.

No excuses. People wearing Flames jerseys shouldn't lose to people wearing Oilers jerseys.

It ain't right.

When I was able to avert my eyes from the train wreck that is Donald Trump, I thought Kylington was really good. He'll be an NHL player by next year.

Believe in the off season and pre-season Oiler hype train.

I can't wait to beat them in their home opener in their brand new building.

Anyone in either fan base putting any merit in the win or loss column in the pre-season is a lost cause.

hopefully they can figure out how to stream a hockey game sometime before the next one.

fairly good game, reminded me a lot of the match in penticton.

also, I really don't see Tkachuk sticking this year. maybe next year.

Jankowski, Eliot, Kylington, Bennett, Brouwer, Wideman, and Gio looked good.

Edmonton did in both games last year, right?

Yeah. This is only preseason. The final score of these games means nothing.

Only thing that means anything from this is who played well and who didn't.

also, I really didn't like GG's goalie pulling strategy. two man advantage with a minute left, you have to pull him. the flames also gave up a lot of bad rush chances early in the game. lots to work on.

Lots of good games all-around as mentioned, but just wanted to say that Klimchuk had a decent game. Don't write this kid off yet - he needs to stay healthy this season, but I like his overall game. Did better than I thought he would.

Still way too early to be asserting this. This was his first game against NHLers and he started slow but looked good in the end.

No need to be making determinations when there's so much time left to see how he looks based on a much bigger sample size.

Keep Bennett and Brouwer together. There's definitely something there

Elliott comes as advertised.

Kylington makes a push from training camp next year imo.

I think Shinkaruk makes it out of camp this year

I'm sure if this was a regular season game, the goalie would have been yanked to give a two man advantage.

I see the Oilers are on their way to another pre-season banner. They should be celebrating in the streets.
