Yes, it's true. The B-52 has been updated/modernized repeatedly and is slated to remain in service for several more decades to come. It doesn't have the speed of the B-1 or the stealthiness of the B-2, but its payload is unmatched, and it's an incredibly effective platform for launching cruise missiles.
