One thing i have never quite grasped...if a guy is going to intentionally throw a ball at you, and your standing there holding a bat, why not throw the bat at him?

I remember something along those lines as well. Makes no sense. The entire reason for the warning is to calm everyone down and stop any targetting. Once you come right back at a guy, that player has ignored your authority and is inviting you to toss him. I dont get it at all.

Thought Tulo knocked that one out. I'll take an RBI double though.

Nice double play Smoak. Too bad they didn't send Tulo earlier.

Why would it be any different than throwing a ball at 90 MPH?

No way you could get that kind of speed on the bat so therefore it may even be easier to avoid than the ball.

I dunno...i always thought an eye for an eye is ok in that situation.

Don't know why I was expecting anything other than Smoak hitting in to a double play.

Because throwing a ball is a baseball play, throwing a bat is not

Just got on the grid. Kind of up to speed. But we're any Jays ejected?
Any Jays injured?
Have things calmed down?

Nobody ejected from the Jays but Benoit looked like he got stepped on or rolled his ankle in the scrum...was limping pretty badly.

No Jays ejected
Don't think anyone seriously hurt but Benoit was limping a bit after second scrum
Things now as calm a man finally at peace with his mortality

Benoit would be just about the biggest bullpen loss we could have. He's been lights out.

I don't care what else happens, just keeping fingers crossed that's not serious.

From what I saw, he looked to be in a lot of pain. Hopefully it looked a lot worse than it was.
