Yup - its really unfortunate but if MacArthur can't take that hit and looks that bad after it then he probably shouldn't be lacing them up anymore.

Also of note, it looks like it was an inter-squad game since they had refs, not just doing drills.

I think it was a pretty run of the mill body check as well. You have to think that MacArthur was another solid jolt from being knocked out again anyway. Nonetheless, the optics are bad for Sieloff and this will take a long time to come back from mentally.

It almost looked like he actually eased up when making the hit. Keep your head up Mcarthur.

Sieloff did nothing wrong there, and Ryan and Neil look like punks for going after him. That was a nothing hit that put a guy out that probably had no business being on the ice.

I wonder if Sieloff said something afterwards. That might explain some of it.

Yeah that hit wasn't bad at all. And the tweet about Ryan beating the whatever out of Sieloff, wasn't much there, either. Looks like Mcarthur really shouldn't have been playing, or maybe it was just bad luck.

I just can't get over how the entire team wanted to fight him.
Just wtf kind of leadership group is that?

Yah that's not bad. McArthur is done if he can't take that hit.

I was expecting that hit to be way worse.

For his own well being, he really needs to retire.

Leadership of that team looks to be in utter shambles, when veteran players are trying to fight fringe players for trying to make a career out of the game.
Wasn't a vicious hit at all, not Sieloff's fault McArthur is out there when he clearly shouldn't be.
Thats a play you want your defenseman to make 10 times out of 10 in a game, and Sieloff is fighting to earn a spot, why would he layoff, no matter who it is he's lining up?
If anything, it may have earned him a little respect from the vets once the smoke settles, but if I were Sieloff, I wouldn't be overly impressed with the leadership of that team. It's one thing to have to drop them against Ryan on the play, but to then have to answer to Brassard and Neil again afterwards is pretty ridiculous.

Just get Dion to turn up the music. That should solve their leadership woes.

What an embarrassment, medical staff signed off on him playing and playing without a no contact Jersey, then their leadership act like that wow...

I wonder if the reaction would have been the same if a more established player had been the one to bump into MacArthur.
Pretty poor from the vets that they let the situation get so out if hand.

If MacArthur can't take a hit like that he really shouldn't have been playing at all IMO.
I still obviously feel bad for him, but I also feel bad for Sieloff. He's had to over come a lot since being drafted and he really didn't deserve the treatment he got there from what I can tell.

2 parties look bad here. Senators veteran leadership and medical staff. Sieloff is new. He isn't likely to know all of the guys and their injury history and status. That is just Sieloff playing his game. He deserved none if what followed, as far as we can tell anyway.
