never been called before because its simply not a penalty to tilt the ball before snapping it.

Hey, I just saw the Riders center move the ball like Filer of Hamilton did just prior to snapping it back to Bartel. No flag was thrown for illegal procedure.

I was very confused on that penalty. I have seen a centre does that so many times and no penalty. I can't blame Austin for freaking out but he was penalized because he kind of grazed the referee.
Look at that Saskatchewan centre doing the same crap as the Hamilton centre and there was no penalty.

Maybe the single biggest debacle of a call ever made.
What does this open the door up for in the future? every single coach on any given play can now say to the linesman to watch and see if the ball moves forward before being snapped...because it happens every single play.
Brutal stuff for a league that doesn't need it.

It was remarkable and i couldnt believe they were calling it....they even had a conference about it but still made the decision to call it.

Does moving the ball forward an inch really matter? The line of scrimmage is the same and he has to snap the ball back anyways.
What a stupid ticky tack call.

I think the referee bought it from one of the Riders D yelling 'he moved the ball'. I actually heard someone yelling on the background. Not an excuse to make up a new penalty though. Whoever threw that flag should get some earful from whoever in charge of CFL officiating. It was a garbage call.

Austin needs to be at the minimum fined (yes, it was a terrible call, but a coach can't be making contact with an official)

The CFL has always been kind of a joke (we as fans should be able to admit it), but this year it is a complete clown show. Really am starting to have a hard time continuing to legitimize it as a league. Nothing to do with the players, but the management, refs, and commissioner's office are a complete farce.

Oatmeal is a joke. Yes the call was terrible but Austin has a history of abusing people on the sidelines.

expect @cfl to come down with decision on @ticats coach Kent Austin soon. Sounds like he'll be able to this week coach but not from sideline

also included in Kent Austin's penalty will be a $10,000 fine #cfl @Ticats
