The schedule is tight with 14 home and away dates predetermined by division games and inter-divisional rotation. That leaves only the other 2 games one home and one away and sometimes stadiums aren't available.

No clue for sure though.
Raiders are playing the Titans in Tennessee for the 2nd straight season. Sometimes the NFL's scheduling formula spits out anomolies like this.

The formula for scheduling never changes.

6 games versus division
4 games versus other division in conference
4 games versus other division in other conference
Remaining two games are your across the line teams in conference

So the Raiders get Baltimore and Buffalo this year because they finished in third place in their divisions, like the Raiders did. They get Tennessee because they have the AFC South as their other division in conference (otherwise they'd get Jacksonville if it was another division). If the Raiders win the division this year (dare to dream!) they'll get the other AFC division winners next year.

Yup and those games are locked.

For example Raiders play the NFC South this year. Away against Saints and Bucs, home to Falcons and Panthers. In 4 years that will reverse.

Also Raiders play the AFC South this year Away against Titans and Jags, home to Texans and Colts. In 3 years that will reverse.

That leaves only 2 games left Bills and Ravens. One home and one away so they fit it in best they can.

Congrats to the Patriots who will pick him up and almost certainly turn him into an All-Pro. The Bucs really are the Pats farm team.

We've been trying to explain this to Troutman for 5 years...still won't pay attention to it.

At least the Patriots don't have to play the Colts this year??

I think this is the first time since 2008 that the Chiefs and Bills don't line up on the schedule. One of those things where they tend to finish in the exact same place in the Division ever year, and when they don't it's that third year rotation where the West plays the East.

The nice thing about his is that it does build some good rivalries outside the Division. Teams like the Broncos and Patriots will be going at it for like the 6th straight year. Seattle and Green Bay seem to lineup very frequently.

Lots of things can bring humanity together. And now we can credit a hatred of the Dallas Cowboys with saving a man's life.

According to a report from The State in Columbia, S.C., a Columbia officer helped talk a suicidal man out of jumping off a bridge by bonding with him over their shared hatred of the Cowboys early Saturday morning.

so Jacoby Brissett suffered a thumb injury yesterday and it's unclear whether he's ready for week 4. Who's up next? Not that it matters though. Belichick could probably sign Tebow and grind out a win.

The persecution complex that Pats fans have is so comical.

Source confirms torn right thumb ligament for Jacoby Brissett. Suffered injury in 2nd half Thursday. Faces likely surgery for stabilization.

That would be awesome. Does Belichick have the ego to do it?
