Yikes. Frank was up 5-1 in the tiebreak and then dropped the set after some gutsy play by the Chilean.

Frank's running away with the third set now. Entertaining match!

Pitiful crowd in Halifax for Pospisil's match. Still pisses me off that Tennis Canada forgot Calgary exists after we got back to the World Group.

Me too.
I asked them why about two years ago and they told me the Corral, "is not an ideal venue" when it comes to World ties.

It's good enough for the FIVB for elite volleyball, so that's just an excuse. Either way, we used to get 3-4000 for America Zone group ties, and I'd be surprised if there is half that in Halifax right now.

Sounds like we need a new field house complex that could be converted into a stadium

On the court though, Vasek is playing well. He blew the second set, but just took the third in a dominant tiebreak. One more to go!

The team really grouped together nicely today. I hope they do things the easy way tomorrow and win in doubles

Oh yeah. It was a total excuse. I asked for them to elaborate and they couldn't .
Do you guys remember the tie from either 2007/2008 versus Mexico. Curtis Joseph was sitting in the front row with Don Meehan on the east side of the Corral and got beaned by a flying racket.

Special achievement and moment for Adil. He was a hitting partner for so long, watching from the sidelines and being a supportive teammate. It's nice to see him get a bit of the spotlight.

Watching Denis on Sportsnet 360. He won the first set on a tiebreak. He might be 17, but he reads the game exceptionally well.

Milos back in action this week in St. Petersburg, Russia (seeded #2 and defending champion). Stan Wawrinka is the top seed.

Genie won't play Wuhan or Beijing
Quote:
Bouchard has decided to skip her planned trip to China to compete in the two Premier-level events there in the coming weeks, in Wuhan (where she reached the final in 2014) and Beijing. No doubt the official reason will be an injury, but it seems wise for the Canadian to take a step back and cut through a lot of the clutter that has accumulated around her in recent months. Quite clearly it has gotten the better of her of late.

If Canada gets past GB, both Japan or France will be home ties.
