He can do anything and while I'm not pretending he's a top six or elite scorer.. I'm predicting that when he gets his chance he'll cease the opportunity and never look back. Really no flaws in his game.

And my dream of icing the Swedes as ELC #4 and #5 D-Men from '17 on is still alive. They need one more year of seasoning but they can both be above average middle-pairing guys. Just awesome. If they can both pan-out the Flames could ice the best D-corps in the league for three years for under $20 Million!

That's actually a funny autocorrect, at least I hope it was autocorrect

Seize the opportunity. Hopefully NOT cease.

Saw Tkachuk's post game interview on the Flames website. What a cool kid.

I wish that I could be like the cool kid.

Did anyone catch what Lemieux did to piss of Tkachuk so badly in the first period? Something must have happened. All I saw was Matt go after him with the high elbow and when Lemieux fell helpless to the ice Tkachuk jumped on him and started cross checking him to the back of the head. It was pretty violent. I figure there must have been some rage at play over something. He earned that double minor!

I read a few journalists before the game say Tkachuk and Lemieux don't like each other and have some history. Plus their dads fought 20 years ago in the Canada Cup.

Tkachuk is a prick. Gotta love how intense he played. It's tough to tell how well he will transfer to the NHL though. I don't expect he will pull the same moves. However, if he keeps the intensity, I don't see him going back to London. Still, it's a small sample size. We will all have a better idea of his potential after pre season.

Made the drive. Totally worth it to see kylington play. I really liked Tuulola's play as well.

Also watched the oilers-nucks game. I expect the flames to stomp both of them. The canucks are not good, and Edmonton will probably be the biggest challenge.

Aside: Does anyone know of a decent place to pitch a tent around Penticton, were at wrights beach camp and its 50$ for a parking stall pretty much. All the other places we've seen are full. If you know of a campsite with open spots please let me know.

Matt reminds me heavily of Keith ... And I am just fine with that .

With all the comparisons to who Tkachuck resembles almost no one has said his dad. He is a higher offensive version of Keith. And that makes me stoked .

I didn't watch the other game but the Flames absolutely bullied the Jets.

Smith was a one man wrecking crew and they had no answer for him.

Will be interesting to see if Vancouver or Edmonton offers any push-back. If not they're going to get run over.

WTF NHL.TV p***** me off so much. I want to watch the highlights and all i get is a spinning wheel aaaaggghhhh....

And breathe, good to read this thread and see that the team played well. Sounds like the goals are going to come for Janko & Tkachuck, just unlucky yesterday.

EDIT - Fixed it, I had to turn Flashblock off, can't believe they are still using Flash for their video.

Should Matt score more than 538 goals and over a 1000 points in his career , I suspect there will be a joyous multitude of Flames fans.

Call my drunk uncle dale. See if he'll move the Chrysler on blocks out of the front yard so you can pitch.

Didn't see any of the game of highlights. But going off posts, if Tkachuk is non stop snarl. Should be a good fit with Bennett and Shinkaruk. All guys with non stop compete and skill. Might have to change Bennett to Benketk to fit in with the other two though.

At the end of that video (Ryan Leslie's post game coverage), they show Jon Gillies and the guys giving him the usual celebratory tap/head bump... Until 5'7 Matthew Phillips comes along. Yeah, no head bump for you (Gillies is 6'5 )
