Speaking of around the league. Is Gaskal lurking around tonight?

I believe Gaskal said he would be ripped and ready to go for the regular season.

Anyone know where I can find the box score for the game?

What do you guys think about Eat Bread potentially playing on the left side of Backs and Frolik? They could use an offensively skilled guy there and I'm not sure Ferland is the answer unless he steps up his game this season.

didn't get a chance to watch. Eat Bread with 2 points? Nice!

Also sounds like Tkachuk was impactful?

Tkachuk is mean and nasty. And he has some slick hands too. The idea of he and Bennett on the same line is going to give other teams fits.

Also came away impressed with Kyllington's wheels and offensive instincts.

Mangiapane was all over the ice and always making things happen.

Would like to see more drive from Jankowski but he looked poised and like a veteran out there. He was also banged up in the 3rd, saw him labouring as he headed back to the bench and then missed several shifts.

Smith is a force out there. I can see the concerns about his skating but he's an absolute monster.

Gillies looked solid after the first goal.

Lots to be excited about.

That's a pretty crap box score with all kinds of wrongness on the scoring summaries.

Missed the game....from what you guys have seen so far, do you think Mangiapane has a serious shot at making the team this year?

I don't think so but still excited to see what he can do in the AHL.

Entire post-game interview, Matthew Tkachuk didn't stop smiling once. Loved the intensity of tonight's game. He's going to be fun to watch.

Yeah I noticed that during the game. The assists went all over the place. Like not even close to correct.

I mean how do you miss Tuulola twice?

Tkachuk was the only one who stood out as NHL ready imo. I know he's young but he's a BIG kid and solid on his skates. He also has a nose for the net and plays a strong, skilled game. I like his chances.

Mangiapane is going to have an uphill battle to win a spot this year at that size. He's feisty but could use some pro seasoning and to fill out a bit more. It's possible, but he'd really have to shine.

Probably not out of camp, but maybe as a call-up if we're pretty banged up.
I think he has a decent chance of finding success in the NHL, but maybe not for a few years.
