The AL's been so mediocre that suddenly to two hottest teams Mariners and Yankees are knocking on the door.

I would definitely agree with that. Lighting was caught in a bottle, and it's becoming more and more obvious.
That is what frustrates me though. All our eggs were laid in the basket that our offence would replicate what was a once in generation type of performance from the long ball. I feel it's because power offence is a hell of a lot cheaper than building through the mound. No sense arguing about it though, because i'm not going to change my mind about it, and most people aren't aren't going to change theirs.
We can all agree though, this is a monumental free fall and is disgusting to watch.

I don't think it is disgusting to watch. If you can pull up - this is what sports is all about. If they turn it around it will be really fun.
Disgusting? Naw.
Just sports.
Fans who punish themselves so much puzzle me.

TAO definitely hates the Jays on at least a subconscious level - otherwise he wouldn't get off so frequently on trashing the team - but this is one of the very few times where I would agree with his criticism.
Watching a team choke like this is horrible, gross and not fun.
If they turn it around and save the season, then that would obviously change. But given the context, the last three weeks have represented some of the worst ball this franchise has played in decades.

Watching them choke this year has been frustrating, but really only compared to last year. Before that it was just a solid two decades of mediocrity so it's not a whole lot different.
I just hate the Red Sox and Rays and want them to piss off.

All teams have ups and downs during a season. The fact it's happening now hardly makes it disgusting to watch. The playoff races just got more exciting to watch and more fans will be glued to their flat screens. This is the kind of drama that fans love to watch.

I think its fundamentally the way they are losing that frustrates people.

I still believe this team has more in the tank. I think after this road trip we are going to come out in a better position. Plus I am going to be in Seattle to watch Mondays game so obviously they are going to win.

What is exciting about the Jays scoring 1 or 2 runs a game on solo home runs and getting hammered by the teams they are fighting with and slaughtered by the bottom feeders they should be beating?
I can handle losing, I can't handle losing like this. There's something seriously wrong here. There's absolutely nothing to get excited here. This team has been playing like a bottom feeder for over a month, and there's no turn around in sight.

It's because you haven't accepted that they're not making the post season yet.
Do that and then this all becomes easier.

Seattle is an awesome time. I go every year, but we went to Colorado for a series instead this year for something different.
Safeco is not friendly to the Jays. I always go there thinking this is going to be the greatest party on earth when we pound these guys, and always leave crying in my beer.
Definitely make sure to hit up the Pyramid Brewery across the street before the game. Will be just full with drunken Jays fans.

The Jays are the oldest team in the majors. So either way a rebuild needs to happen. We will see how drastic it is though

Why are still following this team if you're so sure they won't make the playoffs???

It's not even the worst collapse in baseball this season. The Giants are on their way to missing the playoffs and they had the best record in baseball at the All-Star break. Besides the Red Sox and Braves both had mega huge collapses not that long ago, way worse than what the Jays are doing. Wait for the month to be over before going with the histrionics.

3-9 in Sept is a pretty bad collapse. This is tough to watch.
Hoping they turn it around but this team seems broken.

It's not good by any stretch, but monumental is an overstatement. The Red Sox and Braves had massive leads on their playoff spot, they Jays were not that far ahead.

Because I watch my team win or lose. That doesn't mean I have to
Ignore what is going on or try to fool myself. I think there is a chance this team gets into the wildcard game and anything can happen there.
They aren't winning a series though.

Help, save, whatever.

The Jays have been brutal for a while now, but look at the positive side. They are still only 2 back the pennant and they still hold the final wildcard spot. But they definitely need to end the slump NOW.

As bad as things look right now we all know if the pitching and hitting can be anywhere close to as good as it could/should of course there's a chance they could win a series.
