Long ball kills us again - why can't it be the other way around?

Rays hitters have nothing to play for and can swing freely. Jays are in the race and are clearly tight.

6-9 of the Jays lineup is pretty sad. Navarro, Carrera, Pillar, and Goins aren't going to scare anybody.

Adding in a cleanup hitter who is under .230 isn't going to help.

Yup, and they play against the Cubs at Wrigley Field from Aug. 18-20th. I'll be hitting that one for sure.

Tough to stay positive watching this team recently. Nothing is working for them.

Our pitching in it's prime this year could have had us competing right now, despite the bats, but with Stroman and Estrada pitching the way they are, we're just not a playoff team, current state.

Realistically this is the first real adversity they've faced since the middle of last year. Have not responded very well at all. You always knew the pitching wasn't staying at the high level from earlier, but the fall off from the offense is really bad.

This is getting embarrassing now. It seems like every other game the team is shut out into 6th inning with hardly any threat to score. Even today, the only reason they have a run is because they bunted in the first inning for some inexplicable reason. Just pure desperation from a team that is falling apart.

Thankfully, hockey has started. I don't mind them losing those close games because at least the are interesting to watch but 3-7 in the last 10 games to brutal teams other than the Red Sox is horrible. 1 hit in 6 innings. Jays just aren't interested in playing anymore.

The Jays just look lost at the plate. I dont' even think they get pitched that tough, they get hittable stuff but they just look like they have no plan and are so unprepared for opposing starters. It's getting extremely painful to watch this team try and play everyday. I dont' question their compete whatsover but their exeuction at the plate is just awful against starters. Makes no sense.

These guys are tighter than a [insert euphemism here]

Maybe they needed a real fight instead of a "misunderstanding"

The offense drying up so quickly is scary

They sure are making it easy for Rogers to do what they were going to do anyways.
