Does EAs simulation take into account the respective blue lines and goaltenders of the Oilers and Flames? Must be the McDoodle factor.
Lmao. I think that might the least probably outcome possible.

That's the plot of Rocky Balboa.

That was a painful movie to watch. The acting, the plot, the script. Almost turned it off half way through as I recall.

All this means is that I am going to have to adjust some stats on the Flames before starting my Be a GM season.

Rocky Balboa is a movie that doesn't work on any logical level, but on an emotional one, it's awesome.

I haven't seen Creed yet but in terms of Rocky movies, I'd rank Rocky Balboa above Rocky V but not I - IV.

Creed is excellent. Your rankings are spot on. Rocky V is an abortion.

Nobody giving credit to Rocky VII: Adrian's Revenge. Sad times.

If anyone is interested in tracking it down, there is a movie called Homeboy (starring Mickey Rourke and Christopher Walken) that essentially wrapped up the Rocky franchise in a more satisfying way than Rocky V and to some extent Rocky Balboa.
I haven't seen it in a while, but that was my impression at the time.

It's worth your time. Sly and Michael B Jordan were both award worthy. There's also some great camera work - the first couple fights are all continuous shots and you're right there in the ring with them. Really great stuff. You feel the punches in ways you didn't during the earlier movies.

IMO the correct order is: I, Creed, III, Rocky Balboa, II, IV, V.
For some reason Rocky Balboa appeals to me even though plot-wise it's as far-fetched as you can get. I thought Stallone's acting in it was better than II through V. It also had the advantage of not having Talia Shire's obligatory "yell at Rocky to make him snap out of his funk" that happened in II-V.

The only player they've lost that IMO was significant, if not even addition by subtraction is Hudler (you could make an argument for Russell but I won't). Trading or not signing Colborne, Jones, Raymond = no loss.
The goaltending upgrade is huge. If the Flames had Elliot/Johnson last year they make the POs.
I think the D will be more stable with Kevin in and Hamilton having a year in Calgary under his belt.
Fwds: Sam is going to get better. Brouwer will fit in. Bouma will bounce back. The Flames are pretty deep down the middle where it counts.
