Drove over it the other day by Longview - it was clear and much lower than last month.

I tried Travers Reservoir with my 12ft boat last weekend for the first time with not much luck (I caught 1 medium pike by the park boat launch). Does anybody have any tips for this place?

Also, is Pine Coulee decent for Pike and Walleye? I've never fished it and am curious to go.

Was out at Kokanee Lake Prov Park for the past couple of weeks and the Kokanee salmon are just starting their spawn. What a cool thing to see, especially as we were there almost two weeks and saw the numbers of fish increase daily. I don't fish myself but the tie in to the topic is bears do and there were several hanging around the campground and spawning channel and you would often see them in the water fishing. That was a pretty cool thing to witness.

It's good for Walleye but I am not sure about Pike. It's not really my thing, personally, but I know there are fish there and they're easy to catch.

I'm thinking of taking my kids shore fishing somewhere tomorrow. They won't really care about the size or species, as long as they can get a little bit of action.

There are a ton of options it seems, but I'm pondering Mount Lorette Pond in Canmore, and would appreciate any thoughts if anyone has fished there.

take the flyrod up there! catching a pike pike on a flyrod is awesome!!

The community lakes are stocked and could be good fishing for kids, if you have a friend with access - ex. Arbour Lake, Lake Bonavista

Got skunked yesterday, so it was 39.

Maybe it was something in the air!! The Bow River was in a mood yesterday. I almost got skunked floating!!!!!!!

Pretty wicked! Do you guys have a super long season there and will you be able to get out with that for a while this year?

Oh yeah. Tigers tend to get going hard when the weather gets nasty. Cold winds so hard it makes your eyes water with the barometer going nuts. The season runs from late May through March. I asked on of the NYS DEC officers that since Tigers are stocked and sterile, why does the season close? He replied "I don't know these things. They just give me a gun and a book of tickets to write."

I think we're going to get socked here this winter - and early. Everything here's been eating big lately. Even dink Perch are eating huge night crawlers and Bass-bait sized shiners. The Tigers have been bypassing the dink Perch and hitting on eating size ones, unless I put 2 or 3 on a hook. That usually doesn't happen until late October or so. The fish are better at predicting the weather than those guys on the TV...

Maybe I can get another 40 of them before things ice over.

Next on the agenda is to get a few of these and these...

There's a guy that does that out on the rocky causeway, where I fish. His alewives look more like alewives than real alewives do. I haven't seen him catch anything recently, but last time he did, I almost went out and got a big fly rod. It was quite a battle.

I was out at Pine Coulee Reservoir the past 2 weeks with my kiddos (5 and 6 year olds) and we've caught 6 walleye and 1 Pike. We were just using those minnows that you can get at the gas stations along the way. All catch and release.
