If you can find time to visit Nk Mip Canyon Desert, it's a great course, and one of the only ones with Golf boards. Adds copious amounts of fun to a game of golf.

What are these "golf boards" you speak of?

Typically 3 to 4 days before they start playing. I would imagine on Monday we will start seeing the rosters come out.

Looks like Flames will be bringing Calgary Hitman Aaron Hyman to Penticton.
6'5'' right shooting d man from Calgary. Big guy with speed, but doesn't put up a lot of points
Stats: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=199652
Edit: just realized Hyman leads the Hitmen in points in WHL preseason with 2 goals 4 assists in 3 games... so who knows might be on the verge of breaking out

I just went to an oil kings preseason game on Friday against the hitmen. I really liked Hyman. Huge and filled out, but I thought he skated really well.
He went undrafted last year, but who knows, maybe he pulls a Hunter Smith and massively increases his production this year with Sanheim and Kanzig leaving the team.

Looking at the Hitmen depth chart, Hyman will have every chance to be a top-four defender on that team. He shared 6th/7th duties last year, but the Hitmen lost Colby Harmsworth, Kanzig, Sanheim and will probably lose one of Micheal Zipp and Scott Allan in terms of their over-agers.
I wouldn't be shocked if Hyman played with Kanzig at the tournament.

Don't know much about Hyman. Those that do, is he worth a contract so he doesn't go back into the draft? I know we have a bunch of dmen, but few in that bigger mould.

Our shot at Philippe Myers redemption?

Nah. Team already has Kanzig. And Riley Bruce. And Stepan Falkovsky. And big-bodied defensemen are always available on the college free agent market.

How so? Has it limited having skilled players in the system somehow?
Two of those were drafted in the 7th round, not like massive assets were used in acquisition.

Falkovsky is not necessarily a refrigerator, I wouldn't lump him with Bruce/Kanzig:

Per TPP, 3 out of 5 defensemen of similar height, who also posted an NHLe of 14 +/-2 in their draft+1 year became NHLers. Those defensemen are:
Code:
Name Position Overall Level NHLe
Libor Ustrnul D Bust 12
Braydon Coburn D NHL 12
Dustin Byfuglien D NHL 15
Tyler Myers D NHL 16
Derek Forbort D Bust 14
And a fourth player on that list, Derek Forbort, may just be a late bloomer.

Not a terrible waste of picks/development opportunities, but still a waste.
