It'll be interesting to see how Gibson does. He might have to carry the load for Anaheim this year, so I'm wondering if he's ready to be a starter. Maybe even an elite starter.

It was an exhibition game and Sweden lost. Backlund will play.

I really wish Team NA was in Group A with Canada and the US.

Jokipakka was really solid in the first game, gave good checks, good opening passes, didn't see any panic plays from him, looking good.

So yea. Johnny is the best player on team North America. Unbelievable how good he is at getting open. The puck just finds the guy. Could've easily had 2 goals and 4 or 5 points.
We've got such a special player. To stand out like that with with the talent that's on the ice. Wow.

Backlund is in for the second pre-tournament game against Finland:

Backlund is so much better than Marcus Kruger... It's a joke that he was selected to the team ahead of Backlund.

McDavid's first 10 minutes we're pretty unreal but ya Gaudreau turned it on later.

Looks like some shuffling of the lines at Team North America practice, w/Eichel and McDavid on top line w/Gaudreau.
|
Looks like Johnny's value might be on the rise haha

Have to get the captain going. Otherwise it looks even more ridiculous than it already does that a 19-year-old player with 45 NHL games to his credit was selected the captain of this team that boasts older players, better players, more experienced players and players who have won championships.

Who's better than Connor McDavid on this roster? Besides Johnny, who isn't known for being a locker room leader.
