Press level seating

Hey guys I'm pretty sure this has been discussed in the past but I just wanted to get insight on everyones experience in the press level section. It's been awhile since I've been to a game and got tickets to the home opener in PL5 row 4 just behind the railing. Is it that big a distraction along with the cameras?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Depending on seat number, the camera will definitely be annoying and terrible.

Edit: Looking at ticket prices...wow $75 for nosebleeds??? That is fricking terrible!

Seats 5-8. I know. It was all they had left. Don't they use the center ice cameras for HNIC games only? Or every game?

I've been to many games at PL and I enjoyed every one.
Close to bathrooms great view of the developing plays and vocal enthusiastic fans.
Price was closer to $40.00 per seat

I've sat in row 6 a few times when they are offered to me at work. The main issues I have are the railing which obscures your view and people walking in front of you or standing at the top of the stairs watching the game. I would much rather watch on TV than sit in those seats but that's just my opinion.

This I do not know but I thought those cameras were up for every nationally broadcast Flames games.

I have sat in the Press Level a lot in the past, but now having a nice TV at home I would rather stay home and watch on TV than pay to sit in the nose bleeds.

I go for the atmosphere. You can't get that at home.

Sitting in the first 3 rows is awesome....highly recommended. Behind that is less desirable.

I take it your talking about the 3 rows below the railing? Those are all season ticket holders I believe

That is crazy. Back in the 80s that ticket was 10 dollars. High priced hockey players and supply and demand, brutal.

$75 per seat for PL???? That's nuts.

I have a couple preseason games left that I'm sell for less than that and not stuck in the nosebleeds.

Nosebleed seats could be had for $16 in 1999 when I first moved to Calgary, and you could just decide to go to the game on your way home from work, drive to the dome, and buy tickets from the box office no problem.

Of course, that was also during the 7 years of darkness when we all wondered if the Flames would ever make the playoffs again and they were in danger of leaving the city. At the time those $16 tickets were in the first 3 rows - the upper loges were all closed and tarped over and not even available for purchase - in fact I don't think they opened them back up until the glorious run of 2004.

Ya, the late 90s were bad. You could buy a cheap seat then move down 15 to 20 rows, no problem.

You need to look at it in context. Its public facevalue pricing, not season ticket pricing and its a premium game. 200 level seats are at least double that price for that game. Those 200s are a bigger rip off. After Ticketmaster fees and taxes youre looking at $400 to get into the building for mediocre to OK seats.

I have sat in the first row of the PL for 12 seasons. Sell a good portion of my weekday games and preseason games for my cost on the ticket exchange. The Flames add a small fee. I think if you look on the NHL Ticket Exchange you can get first row PL tickets for $31 a piece for Monday, Tues, Wednesday games.
