It's a showcase tournament. Why wouldn't the team want to have their generational talent as captain? It's not like a real trophy or storied championship is up for grabs here. I hope you weren't trying to argue against me, because you just proved my point. Naming him captain is a PR move at best, but is largely inconsequential.

I know. That's why I said "captains". RNH is also taking a huge backseat in this tournament. If Monahan was playing I'd have bet against him being named as well.

If this was a few years ago and it was Crosby or Landescog, who were captains at the same age, I'd have expected different results I think.
