You make a good point but I think it's a little more nuanced than that.
The way I see it, a PS is awarded when the player had a reasonable chance at scoring 5v5 while breaking away 1-0. If the infraction not occurred the assumption is he had a good chance at scoring and getting the +1. It is awarded for an infraction but is awarded as a "do-over". It's 1-0 because without the penalty he would have been 1-0 in a 5v5 situation.
Since a PP is awarded without the clear cut break away scoring opportunity and the resulting play is at an advantage you don't get the plus.
I don't think the +1 is awarded for a PS given while a team has a man advantage. If they are then the whole thing doesn't make any sense at all.

No I didn't last night - just tuned into all the threads. Made a comment about CP using "Johnny"/"Gaudreau"/"Johnny Hockey" equally, yet in OOT "Johnny Hockey" was his most popular handle.
The name has now apparently stuck League-wide, so suck it Healy.
I'll still be on station for this season, stay tuned.

Certain posters from other fan bases are starting to use "Johnny B. Gaud" Which I kind of like even though his middle initial isn't B.

Pretty even minutes distribution overall. McDavid had the most PP time (among forwards) as well. Better get used to this. Overall, I'm fine with Gaudreau's minutes.
What's the overtime format for this tournament?
