Default Qatar Airways suspends crew member over tweeted picture

Quote:
Qatar Airways said it has launched an investigation after receiving a complaint about a tweeted photo in which a crew member is seen smiling and holding up two black abayas.

The photo was flagged up by a Kuwaiti tweeter with 745,000 followers, who said the man appeared to be mocking Gulf women who change out of their abayas when they travel to Europe.

The suspension of the employee was appreciated by several people on Twitter, who thanked Qatar Airways for respecting passenger privacy.

"Translation: He and the person who took the picture have to be punished. The latter is his accomplice in this crime."

Nothing like being outraged over an employee smiling and holding up two articles of clothing not removed from their own body. Outrage is the new drug. It's free for everyone to try.

This post is beyond disgusting. I am outraged!

Edit: I don't get it, the plane is empty so where did he get them from?

It doesn't even seem to be clear to anyone what the outrage is... according to the article it has something to do with passengers' privacy, but how could you possibly tell who the passengers were who left those behind? Just silly.

If someone could tell me exactly where I'm supposed to place my outrage, that'd be great.

I hate people that hog the bathrooms and change on the plane. That's where I place my outrage.

Certain women wear the abayas while in Qatar, but take them off when they get to Europe. All power to them, sucks that they have to wear when they clearly don't want to in Qatar though.

The idea is that the crew member is mocking them in a sense though, showing hypocrisy. Which I don't know if that was even his intention.

I dunno, the crew member could be advertising for the airline. Look how awesome it is to leave Qatar! Toss off the oppressive robes and go have some fun!

The real outrage is people leaving their unwanted items behind and not disposing of them properly. Pick up your damned garbage when you leave and put it in a garbage bin. It's not that hard.

I'm outraged at the passengers who decided to leave these behind and expect someone else to pick them up. What Qatar airways should have done is to find out which seats they were left at and charge the passengers a $50 non-refundable cleaning fee.

People who leave garbage behind are the worst.

The outrage for this pic would be worse if the women were still in those robes.

You can buy them in Europe I am sure.

When I travel overseas, I usually bring some old clothes that I plan of leaving behind because I know I will be buying stuff along the way.

If they are from Qatar, they are probably loaded.

I just assumed they forgot them. I can see how that picture could be offensive if you believed in that craziness. Also I did not know there were so many different words for oppressive bag over your head.

Ha! Now they have to buy new ones at the airport on their way home!

The airport just gouges the crap out of people buying Abayas!

"New Abaya? That'll be $500."

Yeah but you're buying clothes, not Abayas.
Do they think to themselves "I'll just leave my old one here, so I can get a new abaya at the Prada outlet!"
