I caught a bit of the 3rd period and OT of the Sweden/Finland game this afternoon and it was pretty good. I know there's a rivalry history to feed off of there, but it definitely wasn't All Star game intensity.

The Russia/Czech game was pretty intense too. Much more so than I had expected in an exhibition game.

I think the Team North America players are auditioning for future Team Canada and Team US spots.

2nd PP unit apparently is
Drouin - Mackinnon - Matthews
Gaudreau - Gostisbehere

I hate having the best playmaker on the team on the point. Get him down low so he can either go to the point or to the front of the net. Get the PK to move all over the place. Kind of a waste.

And guess who's named captain?
Yeah, the guy that's played half a season in the NHL.
Couldn't see this coming a mile away.

Let's go Europe.
Hoping NA has a swift end to their tournament.

Of course he is. GM and Coach from his own team. Did you really expect anything else? Like the kid but I hope Kopitar wins every single faceoff. Gets him more experience for the inevitable crowning in that sparkling new building too. They are soooooo predictable.

I cannot wait to watch Johnny play hockey again. You just don't see people move on the ice the way he does.
And people ragging on the tournament can #### off any time now. Watch it or don't. If you don't, you'll be missing out.

Flipped between the 2 games on Youtubes HD live stream (perfect quality btw) and must say this tournament is going to be a fun watch. These guys are really giving it their all even though they're rusty from Summer.
Hope our Flames continue to impress!

I'm glad to see Gaudreau on the point on the PP. Let him try it out when it isn't one of our games. If it works, then we can try it here.

Does this mean they will talk about him for the entire game broadcast instead of just most of it?

Well, they also need to give coverage of the Leaf's number one pick Austin Matthews....so I would guess 50/50 and to hell with the other players.

Even if Europe wins tonight it won't effect North America and their early exit. It's an exhibition game.
