Wild is updated, are updated? is updated? one of those anyways
We are looking for these type of deals right now
1. Help on the PK with a strong DF forward
2. Package of Cullen+Rafalski or Kimmy Jonsson for a upgrade on Cullen and mis 70s dman.
3. Maybe a new #1 goalie if another team is looking to change up their starter. Would add to Nabby to get a guy in the 81ish area.
Too bad Pointy isn't in the league still otherwise I could trade him Alex Semin for his first born (and a fifth)

Are you interested in Roman Cechmanek yet?

One of the unknown stories of last season are that the Wild made a serious pitch for Chechmanek when he was with the Sharks, as we were very desperate because of goalie injuries. The offer included Milan Michalek heading to SJ for Chechmanek, but for some reason the GM at the time said no.

I remember that quite well, same GM who would only trade Chechmanek to the Pens for theodore straight up. A package of prospects was not enough for a goalie of his calibre.

Wow, just wow is all I can say about that. I mean I know from running the Devils that you have to be a bit of stickler and try to get on the good end of a deal. But to be that stubborn with Cechmanek was just stupid. Sure there have been teams in the CPHL like Goffie's Pens who did manage to turn around a real bad franchise really quick, but thats the exception and not the rule. Personally I think any team rebuilding should focus on getting rid of assets like Cechmanek, and getting as many live assets like Michalek as possible. Those players have a place in the CPHL with playoff or contending teams to help push them over the top. But when you're long out of the playoffs, you have no excuse to hold onto those players, especially when you're being offered fair value for them.
Trading a goalie like Cechmanek who was known as being finished for a good young up and coming player like Michalek would have been a great move for a Sharks team that had next to nothing in terms of building blocks.

That was his real name although he went by Taejonguy. I think he knew Axel from like the 50's or something like that. He was certainly a different character. Maybe he saw too many of those North Korean propaganda videos or something even though he had been living in South Korea.
