It certainly would have been a huge distraction from a night that is meant to be a celebration.

Must be concerned someone will chuck some manure at him...
@jamienye:
Hearing this afternoon the #Riders first reached out to the #CFL re: Orridge not coming to the Plaza.
The team and the league agreed if there was a potential distraction w/ Orridge being there... best to keep spotlight on two inductees.

My god. Rider fans are such an embarrassment.
Can we get them another pro team so they aren't so psychopathic about the CFL?

If history is any indication, wouldn't the manure hit the person next to Orridge?

if Rider fans choose this moment to antagonize Orridge rather than to honour their inductees, thats on them, not on Orridge
Maybe im just bitter that we get to miss out on front page news of a fan base embarrassing themselves by throwing feces at the commissioner of the sport they love so much but IMO by having Orridge sit out on this, shows more cowardice on him.
The Commissioner of the CFL needs to be there and should be there. We will never know how Rider fans would act. To assume the worse of the fans makes Orridge look worse

I even started listening to the panel at half-time! They're doing a great job, even Milt Stegall, who I thought was awkward when he started out, is impressive. They spend some time clowning around but they usually have something insightful to say and they all work well together. Good work!

Totally agree with this.

I think everyone would like to see fuller stadiums especially in places like Toronto and Vancouver, but the tv numbers remain strong:
CFL Communications ✔ @CFL_PR
The average audience for Mark's Labour Day match-ups were up 30% on @CFLonTSN compared to last year. #CFL

What a crappy season for Ray:
Herb Zurkowsky
Herb Zurkowsky – @HerbZurkowsky1
Hearing Toronto QB Ricky Ray's out rest of the season with a punctured lung.

Well, Kevin Glenn is no longer the starter in Montreal, do the Argos swing a trade with the Als to try and save their season?

On another note, Jim Barker hitched his wagon to an aging Ricky Ray instead of locking up Zach Collaros or Trevor Harris.

Yeah I don't understand that especially this off-season. They should have signed Trevor Harris. Ricky Ray is good but he missed a lot of games in the past few seasons due to injuries. Now they don't even have any QB who can play with Ray being gone for the rest of the season. I don't like their chances making the playoff this season. They can trade for Drew Willy if they desperate. Willy for one of their QB + draft pick.

Ricky Ray update:
Matthew Scianitti@TSNScianitti
#CFL sources: Ricky Ray doesn't have punctured lung. Lung partially deflated. Fine now. Has rib fracture. Season not done.Out 4-6 wks #Argos
Ricky's season may not be done, but I think the Argos playoff chances are done like dinner if they don't get a replacement QB.

Roster violation @REDBLACKS involves a player on six-game injured list participating on field with a practice roster player @CFL #cfl
League source: @REDBLACKS have been informed they have been investigated for a roster violation and will be fined by @CFL #cfl
@REDBLACKS roster violation fine is $5,000 plus a charge against cap. Issue is player on 6-game taking part in on-field activity @cfl #cfl

If they don't eliminate penalty challenges, I'm out. I've been a fan for nearly 20 years. This is beyond garbage. Play the goddamn game and let the refs do their jobs.
I want to know when human error became unacceptable from officials when the only reason any scoring play ever happens is because someone has made a mistake.
