I would be honestly shocked if there is a significant amount of FYGM folks who drink tap water on the regular.

My main issue with this is the anti crowd just assuming everyone has a solid dental plan, when really that's not the case. Hell that thread alone a couple months ago about how much you go to the dentist proved that. I was shocked at how many people said they went like 5-6 years between visits just because they didn't have proper coverage. I had the same problem too as a student, I didn't realize how common that issue was though. It may have changed, but when I graduated from the UofAlberta, they provided zero coverage to students. It wasn't even an option.

I really don't think the anti flouride crowd is considering the large amount of people without solid dental coverage, and how expensive dental is without said coverage. Why not just buy a Brita if fluoride water bothers you that much? Most seem to use that or bottled water now anyway.
Not having dental coverage doesnt mean you cant brush and do at home care. Even with regular dental visits you will have dental issues if you dont do the at home stuff.

Oh for sure, I just feel like brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride isn't sufficient enough if you're not going to the dentist for years on end when you don't have flouride in the water.

EDIT: Haha well I think not going to the dentist for years on end isn't sufficient even if you DO have fluoride in the water...but debating why dentistry is still privatized is a whole other issue. I just think every little bit helps

Buy bottled water and let the correct, non-paranoid people get fluoride back in the water where it belongs

I think one issue is that a lot of the people who are anti-fluoridated water and pro-deal with your own teeth is that some of them benefitted from the past fluoridation of a city's water supply.

This whole anti-fluoride thing seems a bit pompous to me.

So what they can't afford dental care or are homeless? Let them eat cake!

Hey! Who says I'm not paranoid? Its the Lizard-Men who wanted the Fluoride out of the water in the first place! It was toxic to them and they couldnt abduct and impersonate people with sufficiently high fluoride content!

Dont let the Lizard-Men win!

Driving properly means less accidents, but you can still get issues even when you do everything right. Doesn't mean we shouldn't push to improve road safety even when it's on the driver to use the road properly. The same thing applies here. Yes, they should take better care of their teeth, but we all know that's not always the easiest with kids especially. Why not add this small amount to the system to help them out?
