And I disagree it being a good post. It's one of the worst posts this board has seen regarding gay marriage. How you could possibly call a post that wants to restrict gay marriage "good" is beyond me.

Because it brought up points that are actually debated within the gay community, not just ones championed by those pesky anti-SSMers.

I'm basing my judgement on conversations I've actually had with Peter in the past year, not on some post that I somehow remember from a thread that ended before I was even a member on CP (I don't even know how to go back a month, how do you find junk before you were a member??). It was last July 2015, let it go.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Just saying: As a person who it actually involves, I find Peter's stance more interesting than inflammatory. I'm not offended by it.

"Equal rights" oh yeah you don't believe in that, right?

In a sense that all are governed by the rule of law, yes, I absolutely believe in that.

Creating a patchwork system of benefits assigned to specific political identities, well, I don't think that is even possible in a liberal society.

It's called a search button and this is a public forum. You of all people should know that. You need to "chill".

You're arguing because it's me and your argument stinks. Either say your position and what in Peter12's post you agree with so we could debate that or just admit you're mooning up several threads for the sake of arguing.

So you believe gay marriage would fall under section 15 of the Canadian charter then?

I'm "chill" as can be.

You're the one getting irrationally upset over someone daring to think Peter isn't so bad. I don't think it's a bad post.

#### me I guess.

I don't know. It seemed a bit of a stretch at the time. We basically fell backwards into gay marriage.

It was probably a good thing. Canadians tend to resolve most of these questions without an accompanying culture war, which is one of the reasons our political atmosphere remains so remarkably civil.

I'm not upset. Either debate what you agree with in Peter12's post which suggests gay people shouldn't be afforded the right to be married by definition of the courts or just simply stop replying.

You obviously read his entire post so feel free to post the quotes you believe make it a good post. I would love to debate the points you think are so great in his post because I strongly disagree there was even one good point in his entire post and it goes against every single Canadian right we have.

This is particularly insane. Are you suggesting that a citizen of Canada should not be allowed to disagree with a highly-contentious Supreme Court ruling, which by the way, wasn't a decision but a reference from Parliament, which could have been fully, and legally disregarded?!

You can disagree with it all you want. It still makes you a bigot. Thankfully Canadian laws protect you from being stoned to death and burned alive. But you have the right to say whatever you want and disagree with whatever you like just as I have the right to call you out for your views.

Canada is truly a great country that we both can disagree with each other without having ultra religious folk punishing us to death for our views.

I know it feels good being on the side that protects the rights of every Canadian.

You kinda sound like you would want to stone and burn him to death if the court allowed it.

Maybe you're a closet ultra religious folk?

Nope really not religious at all. But I know what kind of Canada we'd live in if Peter12 had his choice.

It's patently obvious that you are highly religious. Just not a traditional sort of religion.

Religions are essentially moral communities that bind people around a set of sacred, unquestionable values, the side effect of which is creating an outgroup who, because they do not follow the sacred values to the letter, are evil.

You've got this behaviour down as well as any born-again, and have managed to do it without any belief in a supernatural being commanding you to behave as you've been behaving in here. I'm actually not sure if that's better or worse.
