In the future I was forged in the pits of malice, which If I recall is located where Bonzai Waterslide used to be. I was created for one purpose, viciously shame a CP user with no possible defense. That user is known in the future as "Hombre del odio pecaminoso", but you might know this user by a another name, "Moon".

I was transported back in time with my mission branded on my forehead, in case I forgot. I looked up into the night sky and saw the maddening glow of the moon and knew there was no time to waste. I located the nearest hipster and removed his IPad and whatever it was attached to. I created my CP account and waited for my chance to strike down my unsuspecting prey. Unfortunately I didn't quite calibrate the time travel matrix on my Time Tiger and signed up a day after Moon's banishment.

I have since decided to blend in as a common interwebs jockey, lying in wait, remaining ever vigilant that one day my skills will be needed once again. Plus I love Gaskal's Out of town report, it is how you say the opposite of E=NG

I tolerated the old official forum to play in the Yahoo pools. Just looked through the yahoo pool history and, on 03/15/05 a user from that forum named "SweetDoc" suggested this place after the official shut down. So, which one of you was formerly named Sweetdoc? Specifically referencing "Calgary Fans Board 2" pool, won by "Kobesew'inites".

My story is like a cliche plot from a garbage movie where the lead character is eventually forced to admit that he started out using the nice girl as part of a stupid bet but then really for real fell in love and now cannot live without her.

I joined July 13, 2013 which was within days of finding out a direct indictment was filed to make the Ferland trial likely go before a jury.

CP members unknowingly became my jury consultants. I used you (and other sources like comments sections on media sites) to gauge how people that did not know the case were likely to be thinking about it. I especially found it interesting to see the reactions during trial once evidence actually started getting reported on.

Of course I would lurk around a lot of other threads as well and got hooked.

Once the civil matters were discontinued I didn't need to monitor public opinion of the case anymore, but I kept coming back anyway and a few months later started posting.

I heard about it from a group of guys who I played floor hockey with. I looked it up out of curiosity and lurked for a while. What really kept me around was the information about the prospects.

I don't remember why I signed up for an account. But I'm quite certain drinking was involved.

Stumbled onto the forum quite a while back, decided to quit lurking finally. That and Facebook is way too toxic to put up with.

Joined because my need for all things Flames brought me here. I wanted more rumours, more talk than the group of hockey fans I was talking to could provide.

This site is like 7-11 for Flames fans.

After moving away from Calgary I was missing the constant hockey talk with friends, colleagues and on the radio and TV. I found CP as a great one stop shop for news on the Flames and good hockey discussion.

I lurked for a year or so then decided to join up specifically so I could vote in polls. Later I dipped my toe into the game threads to make watching games by myself more enjoyable. I was almost scared off by Moon and Bertuzzied but stuck with it, discovered the off topic and other sports forums and the rest is history!

Was invited to visit CalPuck by Nickerjones who had visited Wirtzsucks, where, I am a member, for discussion of a Calgary/Chicago game during 2010...I am always game for Hockey discussion...

+1 on this. It sucks not being able to talk about hockey with anyone. And not just hockey, CP keeps me up to date with what's going on in Calgary/Canada much more than facebook or any other medium.

My roommate in pharmacy school in 2005 (pretty sure only ever a lurker. Hi James) told me about it. Checked it out and lurked for a month then joined. Made a thread about what an idiot Canucks fan said, was ridiculed fairly by JiriHrdina and the rest is history.

Because they changed the set up over at the Flames official board and I couldn't stand the changes and stopped being a moderator over there and migrated over here instead.

Damn Im too old to remember. It was on the old ladder style forum called Fire on Ice or something like that. Found it through a newsgroup I think...
I only read it now while on the toilet, helps make me regular.

I too miss Cowperson, Lanny and Johnny.
