It's still not even clear from that what the meme actually is. As far as I can tell, it's just sort of a sarcastic "in memoriam" type of deal where people hold up pictures of a gorilla at sporting events.

There's all kinds of variations: the dicks out business, a whole lotta songs and raps, posters, you name it.
Basically it's sarcastic and phony sorrow/outrage at Harambe's death as an attempt to be funny. Some actually are funny, others are lame.
