I wouldn't have had Osuna start this inning today....goofy management by Gibbons.

Osuna seems to always get roughed up a little when he has some breathing room.

He was already up and warm when JD made it a non-save situation, I think that was the reasoning.

Just finish this damn game off already.

They have a huge 3 gamer with Baltimore and they more or less made Osuna unavailable for tomorrow. He had Bo Schultz up too after the home run..
Either way another win. Hopefully the bats stay hot and the starters figure things out.

Whew.
Well half way through yesterdays game it looked like this was going to be a disaster of a home stand against bottom dwellers, but they turned it around and swept the Twins for 4 wins out of 6.
HUGE stretch now, and the starting pitching has me worried going up against New York, Baltimore, TBay and Boston for the rest of the year. (Plus a 4 gamer in Anaheim and a 3 gamer in Seattle)

Yeah, but if they put in someone else, blow the lead, and then Osuna can't come in (managers don't like to warm their closers up twice), then it looks even worse. I'll take the win and deal with tomorrow when it comes.

21 runs against. That's the most runs ever allowed in franchise history in which the Jays swept the 3 game series.

Curious to see the roster move to make room for Navarro. Is Thole gone? My guess is yes, but who knows.

Thole likely will be DFA'd but will probably be back when the season ends for the minor league team that he is assigned to.

The Jays are starting to see a gap between themselves and the wildcard now, starting to drive the nail in to a few teams.
Tigers, Yankees and Mariners lost today and it's looking like the Astros will lose as well.
Of that group, Detroit is closest and is now a full 5.0 games back of Toronto.
At least a 1 game playoff for Toronto is looking very likely.

Josh Thole saying his goodbyes in #BlueJays clubhouse. Says he's going home for a few days. Likely on waivers. Transaction undisclosed.

Likely scenario is he's DFA'd, released, and then re-signed next week.

Only team I can see picking him up is the Red Sox.

Is Navarro going to catch Dickey then?

Martin probably will, then Navarro will likely catch Estrada and Stroman. Though Thole could be back to catch Dickey if no other team claims him.

Thole
No one will pick up Thole. He will be released, re- signed to a minor league deal and be bacK when they expand the rosters to catch Dickey's next start. I also don't see RA making the rotation in the post season so we won't be seeing Thole come October. In fact I only see Dickey making the playoff roster for some mop up duty to save some arms I n any blow out games,,but that's another thread.
Wait a minute.... If Thole is released and re- signed, is he even eligible for the play off roster? How does this work for playoffs for a back up catcher? Or if someone claims him? So Boston claims him just so Toronto enters the playoffs with a rookie back up catcher? I'd do it if I was Boston or any AL gm in the playof picture.
