The American League is so medicore lately.
Last 10 only the Royals have made ground going 9-1.Everyone else is either 6-4, 5-5, or 4-6. Heck if the Yankees actually tried, they might get back in it.

Navarro was awesome with Estrada, if nothing else that could be something.
Also, while not a huge upgrade on Thole, an upgrade nonetheless. Even if Thole still catches Dickey for the rest of the regular season - Dickey likely not on playoff roster and thus no use for Thole and a better backup would be needed.

While I'm not loving regular season Liriano just yet, it sure will be nice to have the luxury of his lefty arm in the pen if we make playoffs. Have to assume barring injury at this point playoff rotation is Sanchez, Happ, Estrada, Stroman. Means Liriano to the pen and no Cecil/Loup (one or possibly both).
