Walking to load the bases with Mike Trout up seems like a bad idea

Don't the Jays have one of the worst batting averages with runners in scoring position? That would suggest to me it is a problem.

Trout is amazing. Such a waste on this team.

12th in the AL. Not great, but I don't know that it means they don't play well fundamentally. They are 6th in RBIs from RISP.
They get a lot of guys on base, and aren't going to get them all home.

Hoping to see a run in their last inning for the comeback. Always fun to read posts before the comeback in those situations and read through the change and we all know it's not any stretch for the Jay's bats to deliver.

I'd like to think they'd have evelated slugging with RISP.

Yeah, there is a significant chance that by the time his career is done he's considered among the greatest of all time. Speed, Power, Glove, Plate Discipline, Premium Position... he's basically a slightly better version of Mickey Mantle.

Such a pleasure to watch him play baseball.

Agreed.

Watched Dodgers vs Angels last year at Dodger Stadium and Trout homered top of the 9th, even though the score was 5-3 Dodgers leading there was still a hush in the stadium. Not to mention Grienke pitching that night was also a added bonus to the whole experience. Great game too.

Got a chance to look it up:

The Jays are 7th in MLB in SLG w/ RISP.

If its RISP with 2 out, Jays rank 2nd in SLG. (Boston)

The Jays really haven't been playing good ball lately (8-9 in past 17) but I think it's time for some perspective.

We are less than a week away from September and the Toronto Blue Jays are tied for 1st place in the AL East, a full 3 games up on the last wildcard position, and are fully healthy (other than minor Travis/Saunders injuries which are day to day).

Expectations have risen through the roof with this team since last year but this is still an awfully exciting time for Canadian baseball fans.
